  1. I thought one of the things about the screen is. The manufacturer has control of you. You can't "add" functions to turn you "L" into a "Ghia X" (sorry showing my age) by swapping bits from other models. If you have a bog standard model you have bog standard functions. You'd need a real whizz to hack into the code and release the Extras and fancy features. They'll probably all be there but dependant n what you pay for depends on what you get. Makes the assembly easier. I'm sure I read about a subscription service on the new BMW's or MB's where you could pay a fee and get an upgraded screen/performance/whatever.
  2. Not sure if I'm 4 or 10
  3. Hi Rob ( @Rob D ) Does joining the wishlist guarantee a bar? Or just an email to say they are available? Sorry if it's an obvious question.
  4. My 10p worth. All I can say is I have used the "ignore" function for the very first time on a recent new joiner/poster who seems to post nothing positive of value in my opinion. Just rares people up. No benefit.
  5. Had exactly the same. Found google on the farm drive where we live. Mrs told him to turn back which he did. It is clearly signed as private and is a track. Although all the satnav's see it as a shortcut, hence signage. 6 months later found the pictures of my yard and setup all loaded on google. Upset! You can complain which I did. It took another 6 months to get them removed. All a bit of a nutache.
  6. Ought to mean 4 but I find it's closer 3 to 3.5
  7. @AJStrees Do you use the ladder on every pass? To ensure its flat and even in and out? Interested as I only use it first pass. Bob

  9. Not me! There is a rubber mount / bush / bung on the clutch side at the back of the body. Plus there was a rubber washer spacer associated with the spring on the lower part of the handle. All getting replaced. Cheers
  10. It's my saw. It isn't used daily but it does get use. Rubbers will get changed and there is spring ur two on the front mount of the handle. Right under the oil tank. Cheers for the views. .
  11. Just needed that assurance Thanks @pleasant are right.and @GarethM thanks for the insight.
  12. 2015 model seems ok but should I replace regardless? On other saws it was obvious the rubber AV was on the way. This saw not so obvious. In the grand scheme it'll add maybe £15-20 to parts bill. Don't want to be wasteful though.
  13. Hi All, In the past I have purchased failed rails /posts by the cord / tonne / whatever. I'm looking at next years supply and can't find any of the usual chaps selling. Anyone out there harvesting wants to sell a few tonnes? 3 or 4 x 2 tonne loads. Maybe more? Bob
  14. My headset has finally given up. Do I buy another pair or is there an decent alternative people use? I like the long life battery. The sound quality on calls is good. Used mainly on log splitter work and ground saw firewood production.

    Ms261c porting

Is that an M-tronic 261? Could you PM me a guide price please?
  16. Good point. Hadn't thought about it that deeply. I have a pension available at 60 (3 years time). I do plan to slow down as recently I've had a few mates around my age die or be diagnosed with life limiting illness. Not being greedy, just want to enjoy the rewards of working solidly since leaving school at 16. On the other side of things.. The current company I work for, has developed an apprenticeship programme. Nothing like the apprenticeship I had, but an effort nonetheless. There ought to be a young workforce to continue IF they can afford to live , eat and commute to the job. A whole different thread completely.
  17. Can't price them as as well as a regional thing it'll be down to your outlays/overheads and how desperate you want them gone. Saying all that I have sold smaller boards on ebay and I've also registered on Woodlots and https://timbermarket.co.uk/ So far for me eBay has been best, still get some tw@ts and I'm always careful to not include too much of my kit laying around in any for sale pics. Good luck.
  18. You know what? Thats not what I meant to type... bloody hell. But now you've picked it up it does make I laugh. Been a tough weekend. Needed a lift. Cheers @trigger_andy :-)
  19. You'll maybe find the thread in the milling section. Again, good luck.
  20. For boards its a year per inch form Outside to Centre. Good luck as I've never been able to get a dick to not split. There is a thread here somewhere where there was a lot of experimentation and hard work and technical description as t why the inside shrinks but due o the circumference shrinking the same % it would inevitably split and go pacman. Good luck.
  21. Cheers, eventually found it. Stihl MS 261 chainsaw 16 inch 3/8 bar rim sprocket and 3 chains upgrade kit new WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Cutting performance increases by about 20%. 22. I'd prefer they were randomly drugs and alcohol tested. The decisions they make and vote on are all about our wellbeing and future, to have that compromised or swayed because they are intoxicated or under the affects of illegal substances is worse than lying.
  23. Yes I've been burning since Mid Sept. Little fires in one of 2 small wood burners- lounge. Heating still off till Nov1 unless I can eke it out a bit longer. Can't abide paying for LPG especially as it's gone up so much. Mrs is good about it....luckily. Roll on Apr 2023 when the heating goes off and Summer is round the corner. :-)
  24. Looks good. On my mill i have the chainsaw head on top as it doesn't foul the job. If that makes sense? You'll probably just have to turn it round and face the other way. Excellent job though.
  25. I made apple wine out of the loads we had from our little tree. Branches nearly touching the ground under the weight. Wine results to be seen in a few months.
