some of these axles have a one shot nut that gets staked in place when its torqued up if you replace the cables get the stainless ones they are only a couple of quid extra
-
Cheers, I have swapped them but still doing it! I shall take apart and see what else I can find!
sounds like a dodgy plug they are pretty cheap i think you can get them from flow tech i think if you google hirschman plug you should get them from somewhere
-
your solenoid sounds like its bolloxed swap the two round about and try that failing that a loose or corroded connection inside the plug I've seen in the past a corroded solenoid shank gripping the spool inside and stopping a valve working
-
on the top of the solenoid the wee red light does that go out when it plays up

what motor are you putting on it

-
have you done a bypass test on the cylinder before you condemn the orbital valve if you take off one end of the hoses on the cylinder in a mid position and turn the steering check how much oil flow is coming out the port on the cylinder it will work better if the wheels are in a rut
-
is it tight both ways when the engines turned off try swapping the pipes round about on the ram to see if it transfers the problem there should be a couple of cross over valves in the circuit as well I've seen these fail before with georotor systems

that engine has to be warm there is no way that the old 2 stroke detroits would start as quick as that ive seen air start detroits with a transmission and 3 hydraulic pumps on them and they never ever start as quick as that ipu do a unit that looks like it could serve as a stress controller for a chipper

we ran our 365 on a 15" bar and 8 pin sprocket easy peasy as the sprocket sits on the outside of the clutch for a quick change

if you find a new one tell me as i was looking for one for long enough and couldn't find one that was 3 years ago so i would think you would have even less of a chance now we had to go for a 560 in the end
-
what if you were a midget

if its an ex utilities mini digger i would avoid them like the plague i have seen diggers absolutely knackered within 1000 hrs but i have seen mining excavators with 90000 hours on them and still going it depends on the jockey in the seat and the folk repairing it when it breaks down i would suggest if you are looking at second hand take an unbiased independent engineer with you to carry out a proper inspection we can pick up on stuff that you wouldn't even think is possible
