  1. I was aware of that, cheers anyway though, and I was referring to specific tractor qualifications (which some people seem to want recently) perhaps I should have phrased it differently...
  2. I have a leather sofa less than a metre away from a log burner. I have encountered no problems at all. My dogs bed (plastic) melted a bit when around 6-12 inches from the burner for a prolonged time. Know nothing about open fires though. I suggest trying it out as close as you would like it to be to the fire on an evening when you will be in the room, and can periodically check how hot the closest bit is getting, over the course of a few hours.

    Wage question

less than 10k definately. and 10 is still a very decent wage for someone with no tickets whatsoever
  4. I am currently on an apprenticeship in arboriculture (NVQ2) I am looking for work on weekends to gain more experience and earn a bit more money. I currently hold CS30, CS31,CS38, NPTC brushcutters and a First Aid certificate. I have also recieved training in the use of stump grinders. I hold a full UK driving licence (however no trailer) and I done some work with tractors/skidders although I do not have any tractor driving or skidding qualifications, and fairly minimal experience of skidding. I have been known to drive an RTT loader, although I do not have much experience, and hold no certificates. I have all my own PPE, however I cannot provide climbing equipment. Straighforward, willing to travel within reason, will consider almost anything. Cheers Ella

  7. Thanks, will bear that site in mind, but theres nothing there at the moment for me. It seems everyones looking for climbers.
  8. I did my 38 a couple of weeks ago, as long as you know the knots your going to climb on and the 3 knot system your covered. For the pole rescue you will need a cow hitch and an italian hitch/similar. Identification is new in the test, you will be asked 5 or 6 including the tree your climbing. Dont sweat it a lad on my course got oak wrong and still passed =/
