  1. One of seven on site. It was the local Myco who showed us the location. I was fighting Batiarb for best camera position. .
  2. T'was a grand day for fungal finds, well, with a little help Ganoderma lucidum - Lacquered Bracket .
  3. Collybia fusipes - The Spindle Shank Desicated ones and some fresher examples .
  4. Hmmmmm.........I see your point. Shall research some more. Did have a niggling doubt that the shaggynous and excentuated colour did not quite match on the two specimens. Stay tuned .
  5. Really enjoyed Tim, nice one. Cool Vid Particularly liked the way you spear planted the handsawn branch @ 31 secs .
  6. finaly this one which puzzled me for a wee while till I confirmed my suspicions and broke off an edge to see the concentric circles young developing Daldinia concentrica on Fraxinus .
  7. I'm sick as a parrot, Cause I knows I ain't gonna top Mr Sorensens record haul. But that won't stop me lookin' In the mean time, here's a few from today........... Pholiota sp & Meripilus giganteus on Fagus .
  8. Went there about 10 years ago with Oliver Rackham on his "Trees and Woodland in the British Landscape" week long residential at Flatford Mill. Got to access some great sites, but Staverton was by far the most awe inspiring As you say, those Ilex & Sorbus are mad trees. Would really like to go back. http://www.field-studies-council.org/2009/courseinfo.aspx?id=156 ftr - I ain't no Suffok boy .
  9. Marsden sure lookin purdy there Pete. Nice pickies. Glad you added the puddle in the last shot for a tad of reality .
  10. Sounds very interesting, but BBC website says Topgear from 19:00 till 20:00 on BBC2 tonight .
  11. Sorry to hear about it Pete. Is this a dramatic increase in recent Arb theft? Or is the medium of this forum making it appear so? Is a "member" using the site to groom potential targets? Worrying thoughts .
  12. If I remmember rightly, the problem with that pro forma is no where specific to put Name Date Location etc You could just scrawl accross the top I guess. Best to pre pare some of your own prior to going on the course. .
  13. I wholy resent the "playing" with a camera remark.......... ...............but I'll freely hold my hands up to the "weird tree man" bit .
  14. Hello Paul. The simple answer to your question, is that the angle of the stems did not lend themselves to attaining a good work position for carrying out coronetting, even on spikes. Mewp was out of the question, as compaction is a serious issue at this site with the vet pollards and the ancient ditch/mound etc. Plus to be frank, coros on green oak of that size diameter wood = serious cutting = not good for hands/saw pollution etc......... .
