  1. Only just picked up on the fact that the great man has a tree species named after him amongst other things.. Spectacular New Species of Tree Named in Honour of Sir David Attenborough | World Land Trust .

  6. Going to a big growing issue Marc. Think it's now more about control & containment in areas where the nests are known and proactive management where it's not yet established. Missed the boat on eradication I think .
  7. I don't believe I've read anything on effectiveness against OPM other than direct removal of nests & application of targeted insecticide .

  9. been a while but we're back on the trapping program with the FC Nests are appearing closer to our site than before ! Males Oak Processionary Moths are flying for the next 6 weeks, so traps to be checked & reset weekly over that period. As opposed to installing at between 5 & 10m (as in the past) study has now shown that traps are better at attracting the male moth between 10 & 15m a blessing that we now have srt .

  11. interesting series of shots that show the upper younger bracket (not sporulating) being a week behind the lower older hispidus brackets which show its yellow spore caught on cobwebs. .
  12. Interesting spread of species Where abouts are you locating these Hewdes? We have none of the Amanitas fruiting here in my part of London Three years ago on this day there were carpets of Amanitas, Russulas & Boletes .
