1. Its surprizing how much of your view is blocked by the passenger wing mirror and door frame in lorries when looking left. If the car was in that spot when he looked left for that split second he would not have seen it. Still no excuse though if that was the case!
2. imagine this situation where you have been up all night on call outs, very little supervision, done the best you can. You take the risks required because that's the job you "signed up to do". Your at breaking point, your knackered, your bodies knackered. Then the phone rings...another call out. You turn up and its a row of big trees that all need to be dealt with one way or another. You phone for help, your told get on and do it , their climbable etc etc is the response. What would you do?? Man up?!! Its not always about the size of your nut sack.

I have found with vests that I get scratched to hell with the extra flesh exposed when climbing. definitely cooler though!
4. Does anyone use arm protection? They are a semi solution but in my opinion the cons out way the pros. Heat for me is the biggest problem with them.
5. my mate Jack Russell knows a good land rover when he sees one.
6. I have trouble with my ears. tinnitus being one. I have worried for a while of the effectiveness of ear defenders. especially over years of use stood next to a Vermeer bc 1000! The higher db ones with the extra foam are ok. I think there is room for improvement in ear protection, and this is definatley one way forward. Ill give it a go. Thanks for posting
7. I think there's a quote from John Wayne, something like..." If you haven't fallen off a horse you haven't been riding long enough." I think this applies to tree work unfortunately!!! (just slightly re-phrased though!)
8. this is definatley going to be a problem. ours is too new but ill be keeping an eye on it from now on. thanks for posting.
9. oh yeah...there is also a big grey area about when they become a problem. I say its as soon as the leaves emerge. right????????
10. I find this issue hard to address as nothing is set in stone regarding health and safety. Today I coughed so hard I thought my guts were going to come out.
11.
too right, would look awsome in a park or something!!

12.
Its a shame that tree can't picked up and put out the way! somewhere where it grow into a massive beast of a tree!!!!! oh well.

13.
that tree I cut back the other day 99% sure it was a Mimosa tree Acacia dealbata, shame there quite rare!

14.
you'll be able to read through all the rubbish I right about now aha
