  2. Bob! You not a fan of the 1x42 or of the Hakki Pilke... What about the 1x47... saw it up in the APF looked a monster!!!
  3. No!!! Looking at the 422 priced at £2,500! Was rightly told that you need to get the timber off the floor rather than breaking your back! Especially if you are on your own and want to be efficient as the 1x42 is a high capacity machine! I'l keep you informed...
  4. Spoken to a guy called Phil Anderson who sells them based in shropshire! He really knows his stuff regarding Hakki Pilke as he uses them himself! You got any recommendations for me firewoodman....
  5. Going to have a look at one next week! Was maybe thinking the 422 would be a bit light weight so thats some good info you've given me there Logbuster!!! You got any pictures of your grab...
  6. £5500 is a lot of money to pay to justify for a log deck! How are you planning to load the log deck? As you mention your back, do you mean lift by hand?! I am thinking of a 3 point linkage crane with grapple to go on my Fordson Super Major to load the log deck to save all this handling of wood. Thoughts?? James
  7. Funny enough I'm in the same position! Got some quotes of M Large the 421 is the most common due to its price of £2650. The 471 with double chains £5,500 and the 472 with triple chains is a nice £7,000!!! I upgraded from a 1 x 37 to a 1x42 and have noticed theres a big height difference loading the wood on the infeed conveyor! Hope this info helps... James
  8. cosworth... How do you get on with the 9ton farmi primero trailer? what tractor are you using it with? (Horsepower and Hydraulic requirements) How easy is it do take the crane off the trailer to fit tractor 3point linkage? Interested in buying one! Cheers james
  9. Hey Dave Bought the crates from Abergavenny Saw Mills! They are 1 ton potato boxes and managed to get them at £50 a piece. Have been selling them by the crate not by the cubic meter. Was told that they were just under 2 cubic meters. Hope this helps all the best!
  10. Thanks for that guys! Will make the changes asap!
