My dad has the old model.
Its does 120MPG, he has to remember to fuel it once a month.
prehaps i shouldn't joke then, although i'd have to do 4 times as many journeys to tip of so it would probably be a false economy

Buy a 460 mate it's an awesome saw!, you wont be dissapointed. Quite a few of the guy's who i work for have bought one after using mine.
-
Seeing things like this only proves why older saws are worth so much money!
I mean come on, why mend something that aint broke?
Just another step down the slippery slope towards a second rate manufacturer IMO.
There was once an outstanding line-up from Stihl, the 260, 361, 460, 200 and the 660. All gone to the grave to be replaced by something inferior.
Well said mate!!!

Doing my accounts for the last 9 months.
We have Landrover and TW190 and Iveco with TW250, 4x4 and stump grinder.
It costs us: BEFORE WAGES £336 per working day! How does that compare?
That is without any major purchases or depreciation included..
is that just before you's ans steve's wages or all wages ben?

And it looks alot tidier than the splice you have to do on fly
-
notice how flat the eye is, like a 16 strand splice where all the core's removed. This rope's a kernmantle construction and it share's the load between the sheath and the core. So you couldn't remove any of the core, so i'm sure thats why they us the sling?
-
I think you can now get the fly rope with a sclice or what ever its called? i think they take the core out and put a sling maybe dyneema in and bury the sheath and then stitch it up? dont quote me
-
Steve bullman used to use it i think? it does look a nice rope it seems thicker than 11mm though. When i saw it against NE tachyon it seemed the thickest? i maybe wrong
-
I've had a little go on one, it works exactly the same as a hitch climber but it won't bind when wet. I don't know how it will operate when chogging, or when your ascending and get really close to a thick branch and there's a chance the zig zag could get bent sideways. Its really really smooth for decending on though:thumbup:

Snowing aand getting worse

Dom is a brilliant worker I've worked with him on a regular basis for a while now, he has the potential to be an amazing climber too

On my first crane job I ended up with a nice beech but it rained bad all afternoon

You should have had the other half of the reel

Platinum 10.5 mm runs nice in the cinch HB sell it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
You shouldn't really use static rope in a cinch
-
Platinum may be my next rope!😎
It's nice mate I got 100m of it
-
Get some velocity for a lanyard and its cheap?
-
it wont work for me on any of the 5 computers/laptops i've tried?
-
I used to use 10mm ocean polyester on xtc and I thought it was great, had a go on it today with 8mm lyros and it was nice, my rope is badly worn now though. Its retired to conifers
-
Also if you get some 8mm friction cord you can attatch it inbetween the 2 attchment points on the pulley, if that makes sense?

Have you court a strand of the core with your fid? If you have you'll be pushed to do anything!
