  1. Now this I would love to see!! They'd not get anywhere near the place and if by some slim chance they did, it wouldn't be for long before they're........erm, how shall I say it?............Dealt with. Dio was a true legend of metal and will be missed.
  2. Just goes to show you never know, sh1t happens. Although injured, at least he's still alive and thankfully, not too badly injured. Hope it's a speedy recovery.

    Birds!

We were reducing hedges from 15-20' down to 5' last year and all hedges had to be examined prior to any cutting. Any nests had to be marked and we had to leave 2' either side of the nest to act as cover till the chicks had fledged. One company I worked for refused to cut any hedges till July when pretty much all nests were empty.
  4. The place I was working had Garmins but they used to struggle to find signals. One day (we were going to Blyth, Ashington, & Newcastle) the Garmin couldn't find a signal so we called in at my house and picked up my Tom Tom. Happy days!! No problems whatsoever, worked perfectly!
  5. I had a fall out with my local Stihl dealer over them repairing my saw after it had fallen into a lake. The reason I was angry was the fact I'd not asked them to repair it, just give me an estimate and if it was actually worth repairing!! Anyway, that said, they do do good deals on things like this new 260. The RRP is £628.63 but they're selling it for £477.25
  6. :scared1: Even though I know it works I'm pretty damn sure you'd not find me putting my finger there just to prove it!!
  7. Happy days and, like you say, even better with nothing to take away:thumbup1:
  8. Cheapest I've found so far. ECHO, CS,-600, Petrol, Professional, Chainsaw, Echo I've used Echo Strimmers, Hedge Trimmers, and Backpack Blowers on and off for 5 years or so and I've never once had any problems with them.
  9. I don't think the issue here is whether you deserve a pay rise or not (I'm not picking on you personally, just using your question as an example) I think it's what's a fair wage for this type of work. I know different companies pay different rate and you make your choise but I really get quite annoyed when people start whinging, thinking they should get more money. When you apply for the job in the first instance you know what the wage you'll be getting is. If you don't like the fact and think that once you have the job you can argue for a rise then tough, you accepted the pay rate when you accepted the job!! Here's one though............... ...........should climbers get a higher wage than a ground worker? If yes, why? Is a climbers job more dangerous than those working on the ground? Is it a more skilled job? I know you need extra NPTC's to be legal but does that warrant the extra money? Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go cos climbers are generally better paid, I'm more than happy to work on the ground........in fact, just to work full stop would please me:001_tongue:
  10. I'd just take the plunge and go it alone. You never know, you might just surprise yourself! You've spent a few grand on courses, equipment, PPE, and stuff so what's a few quid on some cards and a signwritten vehicle? At the end of the day you only get out what you put in.
  11. This ought to be interesting............now it's not that I don't have faith in your capabilities but.......... .........what day are the obituries in the papers?
  12. Isn't a roundabout just a way you get to it?? In a roundabout sort of way:001_huh: Might be easier to call it a circle road thingy........oh hang on, do they have circles in the US? Then again his wife's English so she'll keep him on track:thumbup1:
  13. It matters not what the job is, you'll never make money working for someone else.
