  1. To be fair we didn't do ourselves any favours when we got rid of most of the storage gasometers, just on time doesn't always work well.
  2. I came here looking for round wood in the dim and distant past.
  3. Yep, drainage and associated pumps.
  4. I could start just up the road on Monday but it would mean being on the standby rota, which I really don't fancy. I'll see what happens over the next few days, no rush.
  5. It's been on the cards for a couple of weeks, I've honestly never worked for a company so disorganised, turn up on the job and the gear hasn't been delivered. He's also got two lads who work for him full time, one is sound the other is a dangerous liability. Not for me, I'll find something else.
  6. Suppose I'd better get ringing round to see what's about, or go hungry...
  7. You'd give a good man a bad name.
  8. No, but I've run gangs and it's hard work. Small gangs/teams may be different.
  9. Crafter looks a good van, there's a tidy one for sale around you, Alsager I think... let me have a look...
  10. I'm talking base vehicles for PVC's not coach built, Mercs, although I like them, don't lend themselves easily to conversions.
  11. They are base vehicles for many top end converters, I had a Merc 45 (work van) many years back, it spent more time in the workshop than it spent on the road. Luck of the draw me thinks.
  12. If all the parts were new they would come in at about that money, get a donor Caravan and it could be done cheaper.
  13. Something like that, still a lot of tut (for me) in one go.
  14. It's blowing a gale up here on the moors.
  15. All good Andy, I'll go and have a look, it's just foreign to me buying a van for £15k+. I've never done finance, apart from mortgages. Perhaps this will push me that way.
  16. Shut it Ratty.
  17. We are singing from the same hymn sheet.
  18. It looks tidy and not that far away, I know it's difficult to tell but going on the pictures what would be your first bid? I know where I'm at, I'd be interested to know where you would start.
  19. I keep going back to this for a work van come camper, but it makes me feel bilious thinking of the price. 2017 Fiat Ducato Heavy Duty MAX 2.3 Multijet 130 L4h2 Euro 6, ULEZ, LOW MILEAGE WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Low milage @ 27000 miles. Clean van -in and out, well equipped (PRO), 13k miles, ready to go. - 12 Months MOT.
  20. The half decent second hand ones out there are making strong money.

    It died

... But it did well. Me old Transit failed it's test yesterday on rust, and even at mates of mates rate it ain't worth spending on, so I've sold it to a breaker this morning for £300. I was sorting through the paperwork for it and it's cost me nextdoor to nothing. I gave three and a quarter for it knowing it needed sills, apart from a fuel pump it's had nothing apart from consumables. Do I get another Transit or look at something else is the question I ask myself.
  22. You've missed the point, the city of Stoke-on-Trent is made up of six towns, they are all dumps. It's only the outskirts of the city that have got anything going for them.
  23. You can get a skilled job on one of his factories at the moment, if you want to earn £11/hour. It's not the company it used to be.
  24. Might not be chinesium, but being Tory donors Mr Bamford's son got massive state handouts to fund this project. Shocking I know.
