  1. do stobarts take hardwood arb arisings aswell as soft or a mix of the 2
  2. basically i have managed to get myself into a situation where i get as much of and a endless supply of knackered pallets should i just turn them into bulk kindling or is there any little chippers that would transfrom them into burnable crap free fuel for wood chip boilers any help much apreciated

  4. basically im intrested in doing tree safety surveys i have a national certificate in horticulture with a special unit on trees pests diseases and fungi i have cs30 31 38 i have worked in tree nurseries straight after leaving college (8 years ago) i have worked with thres since i left school both foretry and arboricuutre as a feller machine operator and groundy would this be enough for oing surveys ie kowledge experiance ect iam looking to do the lantra pti course and either the online diploma through myerscough or the european tree technician cert could i doo these surveys now (with insurance) or would it be best o wait till i have the above certs any help much or adice gratefully recieved
  5. was thinking of buying a clinometer but seen the prices of them lol then spotted compass/clinometers has any one used one of these devices are they used in the same way as normal clinometers and what are they like on accuracy any help advice much appreciated

  7. sorry to hijack this thread but as work is way to slow here in uk i was wondering if yourselves or if you know of any other companies that maybe llooking for week on wek off workers for either forestry felling or tree surgery work i have cs30 31 38 9 years experience mixed between both industrys including saw work and driving forwaders and harvesters any help would be much appreciated
  8. is pelletized paper and or cardboard used in any commercial or domestic boilers/stoves or would that be clased as insineration rather that a bio fuel

  10. can any one ell me any laws rules or legalities re burning brash from thinnging/clearfells in woodland (were safe to do so) and in a farmers field ect from tree work (with permission)

  12. get a rottie alsation dutch herder or belgian malinois there will be no thefts then i used to work all these dogs when i was a security dog handler and remember no matter how covert or expense you spend on cctv a 50p balaclava will ruin that job (i know a bit much far fetched but if you leave a saw or any other gear there then it will soon be a problem)
  13. could wood turning/wood craft be a full time job say making furniture ornimants spindles ect all by hand
  14. turned out they had went away on a long weekend would have loved to be a fly on the wall to see there faces just imagine the smell in the house plus the cow muck that was bound to have bin in the chip as it lays on a farmers field ahwell they probably paid out even more than what they owed me to get it cleaned lol
  15. i had a problem with a customer once refusing to pay so i took all the waste back to them they werent in but there was a window open with it being in a ruff area i thought it best to make sure there property was safe so inserted ruffly a tonne of wood chip through said window police appeared half way through the job explained the situation saying it wasnt a safe area so was returning it there so it was safe and that i wasnt going to be responisble if the woodchip went missing the police were very helpful and let me carry on returning there property in a safe and secure location never did hear back but at least wasnt clogging my storage area up and made enough off the firewood lol (im not suggestng any one copy what i did lol )

  20. got my tickets and over 5 years experience withs chippers but never used a shredder and never heard of any 1 else using them hense me asking and it will mainly be brash no timber over 4 inch i want as much firewod as possible lol
  21. havent posted in while but here goes i have a few jobs lined up and going to hire one of the mentioned machines just after some advice as to which is better ie which will give the best possible chance of resale/recycle for the waste which leaves the less mess which is quicker ect thanks for any advice given
  22. rite been quated between 2k and 3k for a full course or if i can get a job 50quid for provisional then wen ready 250 for the test so the big question now is is any one looking for a trainee any help much appreciated round cumbria and southwest scotland preferably
  23. just the straight forader one mate 50 quid for theory and 28o for tyhe test as my boss will be training me on his machine to the nptc standard
