  18. whoops i do mean green holly mate
  19. hi cheers i thought so it just seams strange that some people say you can and others dont, im not convinced myself either!
  20. hi all, has anyone had any experience burning green ash? all i can find on the internet about it is that poem that says it burns like wax and that it should be burnt green, any more help please?
  21. hi, yup ive been at that point as well 7 years in and things have grown but im in the same situation where the money earned isnt really doing me justice, ive moved in to woodland management and im producing charcoal, firewood and coppice products to use in my gardens i landscape so things are starting to tie in but i have had to plough a lot more time and effort in to bring the new things im doing up to speed with the landscaping side, as a one man band it's hard both on cashflow and time but im hoping it will come good and with the weather like this it should! thing is is having the foresight to prep for the winter during the summer and that means not landscaping to chop logs etc when i should be doing patios ect......its tough, how are you getting on?
  22. hi mate can you let me know how you get please
  23. hi mate im trying to find out as much as i can about using green holly, i take it you have experience, can you tell me anything??? cheers
  24. hi funnily enough ive gone the other way i rent some land in york where me and a mate use his ring kiln but i was hard for me to get down there due to living in durham and when i did he was never too madly into it, however i manage a woodland near my house now selling firewood and like you have produced loads of thin sticks so i finally decided to go ahead with the oil drum idea although thinking it wouldnt be all that worth it...i was wrong! its so much easier than the hassle of filling the ring kilns, burning it, shutting it down and emptying it this can take up to 100+ hours and with the oil drum it can take about 22 or so, i have five set up and am aiming to get at least another fifteen! how are you getting on?
  25. hi that would be great im just getting started if it is still possible?
