  1. Hello I am looking to buy a Timberwolf 13/75G and was woundering if anyone could give me some feedback on one. I would love to have a Greenmech cs100 with the 18hp engine but the price is at bit too steep at the moment. Also has anyone got one for sale? im in kent. Thanks
  2. I have recently just bought one, but when i installed it and ran it for about 5 hours it blew up! it took dell 6 weeks to send a new one. but the new one seems to be working fine now. Customer service is also not that great. Maybe i had a bad experience of dell. mine was the dell inspiron £600
  3. Thanks jay No its the ABC cert part time however ABC are the examining body for RFS. The ABC Course runs closey in association with RFS so the qualification you recieve will still be the same i think, this is from my own research though. hope this helps and makes any sense! oh yeah the course starts in september 2010 maybe see you there
  4. Cheers Tractorboy1 What time of the year did you enrole on the course? when i phoned up they said they dont get the part time course prospectus untill june/ july time? Thanks for the info
  5. hello I am soon to finish a National diploma in countryside management then wish to enrole on a ABC arb cert (theory only) level 2 at hadlow college part time in kent. Has anyone done this coures before and do you rate it well? another question i have is do you have to have NPTC certs in chipper training and tree planting before you start the course i already have cs30-31? Thanks any info will be great
  6. You will get it next time, When I did my training and assessment, I always put a nice straight stick in the gob cut so you can cut parallel to that. Then you have a nice level hinge. Maybe try this before your next assessment. Hope this may help.
  7. Thanks for all the info I will definitely go for the Kombi system also keeps the price down too! Thanks for helping me make my decision.
  8. Thanks Would the kombi system with stand professional use though? cheers
  9. Hi Can stihl pole pruners breakdown into sections for transportation? Ive got a Land rover discovery fitted with a commercial roof rack and am worried that it won’t fit anywhere or i will have to lash it to the roofrack some how. Any advice appreciated Thanks
  10. Thanks My closest dealer is GreenMech only 30min away! just found out, will a cs100 do the job and does anyone know how much one costs? Thanks again
  11. Thanks Guys I'm only starting off small I won’t be taking on huge dismantling jobs mostly cleaning, reductions and thinning work etc so would a 4" be ok the rest I want to be for log production for extra cash anyway just want to get rid of the green stuff.
  12. Thanks IC TREES and redmoosefation Would it be better to a buy second hand 6" Timberwolf than a new 4" with a warranty? I might just stretch myself and by a new 5" hydraulic Timberwolf.
  13. Hi I’m thinking of starting my own business soon, so in the process of creating a business plan. I need a small chipper about 4" I’ve been looking at the Timberwolf TW 18/100G and the Greenmech CS 100 which one? and how much do they cost i cant find the greenmech anywhere. Or are there any other chippers out there that would do the job. Any comments/advice would be appreciated Thanks
  14. Thanks I think i will splash out and buy a new ms200t.
  15. Thanks I could pick one of those up for about £200 at my local dealer but would it be reliable enough to start with, for about a year of business use?
  16. Thanks Martyn1 yeah i would mostly use it for lighter work, as my buisness is going to be starting off small.
  17. Hi Has anyone ever wondered about using a MS192 C-E as a climbing saw because it’s lighter and safer than the MS200T and it used to be an MS192t. Any comments/advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  18. Thanks I think I will just do the NPTC's then maybe in the future do an Arboriculture Technician Cert or something. Thank you for helping me make my decision
  19. Thank you for your time and knowledge I have considered doing that course and if it works out cheaper than the NPTC certs it could well be an option. Was it 5 days a week and were all the assessments and NPTC examinations included in the price? What was finding a job like and did your employers like the qualification, because that’s another one of my concerns. Thanks
  20. Hi I’m currently on a National Diploma in Countryside management in my second year and when I finish would like to progress in to training to be an Arborist, but I don’t know if I should go to Merrist wood and do a full time course or do the NPCT certificates individually at Kingswood training centre where I live in Kent. My ND in countryside management already covers units in plant science, soil science, tree biology and woodland management. So if I did a full time course at Merrist wood I would have to go over the same units again at a lower level. I would also have to live at Merrist wood as well and would cost way more than doing the NPTC courses on their own. I’m in indecision at the moment so any advice/comments would be appreciated. Thanks
