  2. Hi bob hope all is well? Went to the parish coucil meeting this week and they are not happy at all, they think that they can bully taunton deane coucil to change there minds
  3. 24/11/0039 Change of use to agricultural land for storage, processing and delivery of firewood with landscaping and access enhancements Reasons (1) The proposed development did not make adequate provision for the loading and unloading of goods vehicles within the site and would, therefore, encourage such vehicles to park on the highway with consequent additional hazard to all users of the highway. The proposal was therefore contrary to Policy 49 of the Somerset and Exmoor National Park Joint Structure Plan Review (adopted April 2000); (2) The application, which proposes the removal of a substantial area of existing roadside vegetation, was considered to be unacceptable as it would have a detrimental landscape impact on the character of the area, contrary to Taunton Deane Local Plan Policies EN6 and EN12. Also resolved that enforcement action requiring the cessation of the use of land for the delivery, storage, processing and distribution of firewood and logs be not taken.

  6. This decision is better than getting planning permission!!!!!
  7. Went for planning permission tonight to do firewood which meant change of use from agricultural to light industrial use, It was refused 8 votes too 7(sooo close) If we had got permission we would of had strict condions placed on us and our planting scheme would of costs thousands of pounds. (min 10k up to 20k) Then they decided not too take enfocement actoin agaist us, so we can carry on as we are without spending any money. so bizarre. We went into the planning meeting wanting to get permission, thank got we did not get it!!!!

  12. Think ive been lucky as ive been only doing logs for 18 months full time but in 2011 i managed to deliver logs every week of the year bar one!!!!!
  13. Is that all what is it you think you are doing wrong to have so poor sales?
  14. Log sales have gone dead, not one order today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Better to be delivering a cubic metre than a dumpy bag surely? Cutomers may need a little explanation but soon catch on and are generally pleased with the amount of logs they get. It's worth a few minutes on the phone. And then of course they know for next time. Customers always return if the price is fair, the logs are good, and the service is pleasant and on time. And they recommend neighbours etc too. The quantity can be confusing for the customers, but personally I'd stick to the cubic metres. You will even find that other suppliers in your area follow suit eventually, as we have. (As long as they can grasp for themselves what a cubic metre is of course.)
  16. Most ive done in a very long day is 14 cube all on my own

  20. I donated 1 cubic metre of high quality seasoned hardwood firewood to a charity auction. Usual selling price for this quality product is a very reasonable £90. It went for ...........£190!!!!! ok it was for charity but even so it has made me wonder if we are all too cheap, even Certainly Wood.
  21. This is what i sell...http://www.westcountryfirewood.co.uk/ Cost me less than £32 in materials and i sell for £125
  22. I knew after watching the show there would be plenty of people ready to come on here and criticise how they did it!!! I was going to film myself going to go to the toilet, but i just knew there would be way too many people saying i was doing it wrong!!!!
