  6. It's due to the fact that it is under a three way load. Ie. the harness pulling left and right on the triangles and then you clip a krab to the mallion to anchor to. If you use to main lines you should have to mall ions or you'll be four way loading it. A krab should only be loaded two way. Hope this makes sense.

  8. It does self tend fine but there feels like a bit of resistance on the bottom link when using a pantin for some reason.
  9. In response to t14ees-t14unk the way to take apart the hc: you need to centre punch and drill out the riveted ends of the spindle, it's tricky and dont go too deep as you can re use both ends of the spindle for top hat shaped spacers. A small metal work lathe is handy for drilling the 5mm central hole, but not essential. A couple of m5 penny washers filed thinner to act as shims either side of the zz components will offer support for side ways movement. The main spindle is then replaced with a high tensile m5 collard bolt (only thread on the last portion of bolt). I may put a suitable size bolt through the spare hole in the hc to keep the side plates from moving. This is for educational purposes only.
  10. Exactly Rupe, if friction rope self tended as well as a zz, no one would of bought a zz. Not at £178. As you say depending on the loler inspector and their interpretation of the rules it could pass as even friction cord only has to be 'fit for purpose intended'. If that config was tested then and it gripped reliably then there would be no cause to fail it. And yes as you say how many modded zz are out there that will never see a loler inspection. I put a dyneema sling choked on to the top point for a while so there was never going to be an issue with cross loading.
  11. Friction rope won't self tend. Also why would it not loler? What you clip too is ce rated and the hitch is fit for purpose= pass
  12. This works well. Just need to put a better spindle bolt in.
  13. Is the splice on your e2e rated!
  14. Will work fine but risk getting over excited and launching the throw weight into orbit!
