  1. I can only apologise for the poor content of the thread as you see it. My involvement has not been from the outset, and with all the love in the world staying abreadth of the current developments let alone the history etc behind the scheme doesnt come close to being as important as other things happening in my life.
  2. It is hoped that the scheme will assist people in colleges and many other stages of their careers, not purely from the top down. It is a shame that you were unable to attend as the software and reasoning behind the scheme etc are in some aspects beyond my remit, but really do help to clarify how things will work.
  3. Many thanks for that, much appreciated.
  4. No, i am asking as to whether or not you wish for me to take from a post you made that 5 groundsmen grades will exacerbate a problem, as i take from the manner of your text an incinuation that it is excessive.. If you feel that 5 is great then I must have mis-interpreted your post. Apologies
  5. No worries, point taken. You enjoying the report?
  6. I have had 1 person off arbtalk show support via a pm and four other people show support via email in the last three days relating to their support for the scheme. That is not to be taken as me saying the whole industry, just purely highlighting thats all. I can not remember the details but there was a questionaire/survey carried out two years ago if i remember correctly. As to who was surveyed i am unable to remember at this moment in time.
  7. In relation to the groundsmen.
  8. Absolutely. Couldnt agree more
  9. Yorkshiremen, Nobody has become the boss, nobody is saying that everybody needs to uptake this register. But within the realms of the Professional Standards Framework, (apologies i used the word development framework in a prior post, before that is picked up on,lol) a PAN industry group are trying to develop something that hopefuly will assist the industry in certain aspects of improving industry professionalism. May i ask; if it is not construed as picking your brains and exploiting commercial opportunity, but you have a strong opinion on this, have you had experience at setting something similiar up in the past? what would you see as the right way for this to be looked at? or are you totally against the entire concept behind trying to increase the professionalism of the arboricultural industry in this way? Of course if you have your own ideas and therefore would rather keep them to yourself then thats fine, but as i try to convey the message that this is not about filling pockets with gold and is about doing something for what my personal opinion deems a good cause then i would greatly appreciate any input were you so to feel you could give it. Regards, Jaime
  10. Admittedly that report is two years old now, the scheme has changed significantly in the last week, let alone the last two years!
  11. Apologies but as i try to decypher from your post a point that you may be were trying to make, would you like me to convey to the comittee that you feel that what you reference within your post is excessive? Thanks for your opinion, much appreciated.
  12. What is licence policing FP, what does FP stand for? Thanks
  13. Is it a case of expecting the industry to self police? it would be of much value to the industry if it did. It is hoped. Reference self police now or later im am unsure of what you mean
  14. It really is not like that, this scheme is 'anticipated' for the benefit of the industry, for those that wish to partake, and certainly not for the benefits of pockets. I am unaware of what previous schemes have tried to have been set up and whether the intention was to make money from these schemes, that possibleyseem to be leading many people down the route of the commercialtiy of this, but rest assured if this was about a money maker for the R2 commitee i would walk away now. I whole heartedly acknowledge that his scheme needs to fund its self, but it will not be funding a lavish lifestyle to those that are volunteering their time. Once this scheme is up and running I anticipate my personally attending any review meetings and that is it. This is being developed by volunteers who see a need for something that aligns with the professional development frameworks that other industrys within the landbased sector are/ have implemented.
  15. Good post, Policing will be carried out by a multitude of groups/sectors/people, it is hoped that a certain element of the scheme will be industry regulated. Evidence or endorsements that are made by people; be they managers staff, team mates, or if circumstances permit; clients, will be checked at particular phases by admin staff that are to be provided by the R2 committee acquiring the services of lantra staff, software and technical support. There are people who drive around on fake licenses, gasmen who arent corgi, but i know a few plumbers who have informed the appropriate authority of false corgi/gas safe companies. I would hope that if someone had commited themselves and the required time to adopting the R2 scheme that they would inform the relevant person of any activity they deemed unsavioury. A grievance and complaints proceedure will be implemented for a multitude of issues and circumstances.
  16. In order for the technical aspects of the jobs criteria and standards and experience and endorsement process to be as all encompassing as possible prior to the pilot launch phase of the scheme then Tony is working on that. Just because something is done voluntarily that does not mean it does not get done. I believe there is a saying related to the streength of a volunteers resolve and heart. But forgive me I cant recall the exact wording. Nothing wrong woth volunteers, especially people with certain skill qualities. THe scheme will be piloted to enable any glitches to hopefully be ironed out.
  17. From what I can gather the desire to create something that recognised the skills and experience along with everything else was founded back in 2007.
  18. We all see things differently, its what makes the world go round. Thanks for the comments whether good or bad they all get read by the steering group. Cheers Jaime

  20. That would certainly be a step in the right direction in my personal opinion.
  21. Thanks for the support pommie.
  22. Andy, No we have not met. Reference the content of the post I am unsure as to what you refer to? If young noble knight then I apologise if that is ageist. If regarding the scepticism then it was to try and assure that my report back would not be written with glitter and stars attached bedazzling the arbtalk audience with a biased view of the R2 scheme. The comment was made as a reply to a message in a public chat forum about the topic, and was not representative of the Chairs view, the AAs view, ISAs view, Landex view, Bartletts View, Glendales view nor Lantras view, nor that of any other organisation that decides to support or adopt the scheme over the forth coming months and years. Apologies for any upset that may have been caused through the lack of clarity on said post. Kind regards, Jaime
  23. Consider it done young noble knight, I shall attend and report back with the upmost scepticism, therefore enabling all to have a slightly more partial update of R2. Although i am chairing the meeting I hasten to add.. Thanks for wanting to attend and view the scheme/system. Regards, Jaime
  24. Selling kit is heavy going. See if a family relative will loan you it and pay it back to them in instalments upto the date that your next payment on account is!!!
