Attached are some pics of a ded tree which has to come down, the burr is about 7foot high and about 5foot wide approx. How much do you think it is worth and where do you think that I will get the best price for it.....ebay (its an auction site!) its in Aberdeenshire.

Not good hope you got paid Gibbon, did you do any checks on the company before hand? As I said earlier the Riskdisk web site came back with them being OK so not sure which I should believe.

Well not really a cheap job about £2.5K, so would be good but not sure, think we'll go for up front if he says no then walk away.

Hi we did a quote for a company who are converting a house and there are ded trees to come out, 2 months later they have responded saying to go ahead. However since sending the quote we have heard that they maybe bad payers, they (or the guy we are dealing with) owe one local company money and the neighbouring estates said to watch out, I have checked on riskdisk and the record is good. Has anyone used riskdisk and been burnt? What would you do ask for half the quote upfront, ask for all upfront or just walk away, there is a hire in equipment charge involved.

Great news you got your valmet sold, cant imagine it would make any difference your vat reg'd your charging vat, as long as you get your money in the end. Bet your wife is out spending the money now!

Don't you think that it a lot of hassle changing all the insurances each year for a few quid?? Not to mention sitting for a day getting quotes.

Quite agree in our case looking at job, pricing and carrying out are all done by the same person, so not really necessary for written MS unless requested of course.

After you have spoken to CAB go home and write everything down, that you want to say, on a piece of paper then you wont get flumixed in the middle of your talk or forget anything important don't worry you won't look bad going in with a bit of paper in your hand. GO FOR IT! -

After a hard days grounding you have no idea how nice it is to have the rain fall, you can let your hair get wet then it doesn't look such a mess having been messed up under a hard hat all day!

This is one of the problems that we have, as well as having to remove our jewellery for safetys sake. But then we could be paid in new jewellery....hint gint guys!!

I got blank ones from a website HS Direct, cost, but they are quite good.

I do agree that technique is alot to do with it but they also have to have stamina, you can't be a climber or groundie for only half a day!
