Yep awesome forum! Although I've not been logged in since 2012 still trying to get out of tree work. Although i am only doing weekends, just started setting up my gear again, and was looking at an ajustable bridge thread on TB and your name came up and i thought I would go have another looksee.😀

dont kick your helmet a mate of mine did it with a pacific helmet, and it went under a truck! no amount of stickers is going to cover that up! at least his head was'nt in it! as for stickers on helmets, I work with a number of climber who have them. and the company seems to have no problem with them.

I wanted a pair for ages, only I dont buy expensive stuff with out picking it up first and trying it on, I could'nt find any thing local to australia, so I decided to buy some snow board style chemical goggles, and a replacement mes visor, oh and a tube of rubber glue and a black marker to cover up the glue,(my mate thought I had brought them It was such a good job). there is heaps on this online for bb gun stuff, you take out the plastic lense and use it to mark the shape, of the lense you want to cut from the mesh, then you just glue it in place. well they worked (copped the end of my pole belt clip at full force.. just a dent) well but, the goggles I got were rubber, so the mesh got easily bent in my bag, if I made them again I would gett the goggles with the individual lenses, because they have a better structure, and they dont cover as much of your face so they dont get sandwiched between your helmet peak and the tip of your nose, the padding was wet suit which got to slimey when I sweated. and i would use fine mesh instead. They were not CE but neither are some of the goggle listed here, and they worked, I was saved more than onece because of them, never came home with a scratch across my eyelids, as has happened to me with glass's and visors. they also had blind spots which took a bit of getting used to when you were in a tight spot, clear sides would help. to be honest, i have given up on them as they had as many problems as goggles or visors. may make or buy a more expencive set up later, as I brought the cheapest stuff I could get away with.

I'm 31 I don’t feel any where near old, so , I don’t have a gut, I don’t even want a range rover, unless I can sell it for cash , I have a bicycle, I did buy a pair of skinny jeans but there a size bigger than my usual. so not too weird, great for riding the bicycle, cause they dont end up in the chain. the only person I compete with is me, you need to up your fitness. if you want more out of your body, loose the extra baggage that will help you out, I went to a sports physio who gave me a bunch of exercises to do, which sorted out a number of weaknesses I had especially in my left knee. Best thing I’ve done is chilled out. enjoy what you do! it is the best job I’ve ever done.

on the one hand scumbags make the UK harder to live in. I'm glad he got thrown off. perhaps it would have been better to call the cops to get him at the next station on the other hand trains are expensive in the UK, and when I go to festivals on one I pay to stand in a corridor it was often cheaper, and easier unless going to London to hire a car. but the rules are the rules and it pisses me off when the blaggers of society flout it. fair enough you get caught get off the train. your walking!

hey guys. My GF Moved back to the UK as her visa has run out I am flying back January 20th, moving to Birmingham, will be looking for any tree related work. any one know/worked for any one who will, take on Arb Labourers, with minimal qualifications (cross cut medium felling). I can climb to an extent and ultimately that's where I'm heading career wise, but I am just as happy to drag. I have about 4 and a half years specific tree work experience, and have been in and out of tree work since 2001, I am a genuine hard worker and can offer referees who will back me up on that. I am looking for work in Birmingham preference for the Coleshill side, but will consider any thing in or around Birmingham. I'm going to go through the yellow pages, and ring all the locals. like I’ve done before. But I thought that starting here was good, as it might speed up the process, as money as usual is tight.. hey guys, As usual as soon as I started working I had no time for going on the internet, as I don’t have it at home, I got work with ace arbor the first one I phoned, and have been working for them ever since, he can be a little ungracious but all in my pay checks have been mostly on time, and the work is hard but regular, most of his contract climber are ok but one can be said to freak out a bit too much. but I couldn’t be more care free as he tells me with using an anecdote how to tie my shoe laces one more time:lol: the work is hard and the logs are big, I’m still enjoying work, but working in Sydney has made me seriously consider discontinuing persevering with my climbing career, its been 10 years on and off, and I have a long way to go and I am starting to think I don’t want it badly enough, to get to the level I wanted to get to. But who knows. thanks for all the help...:thumbup1: Vince
