  3. These trees are gonna be bloody expensive, the sundries are running into hundreds of pounds alone, 37 x root management systems, irrigation precinct, grapples, s/steel stakes etc etc....
  4. Cheers all, I was thinking Bobcat's for some strange reason, the Micro digger didn't even come into my head. Doh.
  5. We have a contract to tender for that requires approx 38 semi mature trees planting and obviously we will need to dig the holes. There is no way we will be digging them by hand, so I wondered what to use bearing in mind we will have to drive over newly laid flags etc ? Cheers
  6. Do I still need cs30 etc to use one of these machines, or are they not covered by the same laws etc ?
  7. Can't be too bad a machine if it's a Kubota though, well that's my thinking anyways ? It's a 3 hour drive or there abouts, Cumbria is a nightmare to get away from if you live on the west coast mate. May well be a shout though, could do with a trip out.
  8. Kubota GZD 15 Riding Mower on eBay (end time 21-Jan-10 11:31:31 GMT) Has anybody used one of these before, if so, what they like ?
  9. Most people we have spoken too about them say the same, and they are a bit cheaper than the Profihopper 2nd hand. Decisions decisions eh:confused1:
  10. They are still selling for upwards of £6k on Ebay, even the right tatty looking ones. Buying someone elses problems.... £ 22K is well above budget though. Hows yours been repairs wise ?
  11. What's your thoughts then on which machine to choose, I've only ever driven machines with steering wheels, so I don't have a clue about the zero turn types, which would you go for if given the choice ?
  12. Cheers for that Gareth, it looks like a straight choice between these and the Profihopper. I am leaning towards the profihopper at the minute though as they are " out front " mowers and that must be advantageous when going into corners etc ? This has to be an advantage ?
  13. Looks like it leaves a great finish mind, whats it like for collecting longer wet grass though ?
  14. I really like the look of these machines, are they as useful as the adverts say ?
  15. I was thinking about Kubota's the other night, there are 1 or 2 on E-bay. What are they like for collecting long wet grass though ? I have to get this right as there is only enough cash for one shot at this, and these machines that dont pick up that well are a waste of coin. Dave
  16. Cheers Rupe, that's what the info I was after, I'm just waiting for Train to gain to ring me back before I go booking courses etc, There is a chance of funding if he does an nvq as well.
  17. I'm not thinking Climbing work at the moment though, I just want to be able to do the smaller stuff, then we can look into climbing etc. What is the basic entry level ?
  18. I have considered employing someone in the past, but we didnt really have the work back then, a kind of chicken or egg situation, tis a bit of a juggling act. And i dont know if there would be enough work now, so it makes sense to build it up this way we think.
  19. Just looked at the Princes trust website and its for young wipper snappers mate, I certainly aint that and neither is me member of staff. Doh
  20. Cheers pward, how's jedward ? ;-)
  21. We contract our tree work out at the minute though, we take a share of the profits and everybodies happy. We do the Hedgework, but would like to cut down on the tree work we sub out, but obviously we won't do the climbing etc. So what is a good starting point ?
  22. Cheers for all the replies, Rupe, I didn't realise it was only £300 quid, What type of work would he be able to do ?
  23. Thanks Rupe, Is it just a matter of a phone call to the I.R to get this sorted ? Dave
  24. Cheers for clearing that up, would I benefit in any way by being CIS registered ?
