  5. Don't know if this site has been posted before or not (so sorry if I am repeating a link) But for anybody unsure how to tie some of the knots being mentioned this is quite a good little page: Grog's Climbing Knots Index
  6. As well as the above mentioned sites you could try: land-force.com earborist.com horticulturejobs.co.uk You could try speculative CV mailing, if you get no answer on the phone. Good Luck mate, its hard considering present economic climate eh.
  7. Thank god cos you are in the minority then. I spent 6 years in Essex and now I sound like someone out of Eastenders, I wear Burberry caps and drive a lowered Vauxhall Corsa. Does that mean SCUM stands for: Sthl Chainsaw Users Manual
  8. Jesus didnt know I was going to start the old Husky v's Stihl summit talks, just thought I would try and help someone out, I don't work for ACAS you know. And you are right Husky King we are all thieves from the North. Just as Essex geezers are mockney chav's.
  9. It is but it may be worth the punt as he has got "make an offer on it" and if you picked it up it would save £25:00 on the delivery (he is based in Stockport). Your right though, it may run like a bag o nails.
  10. Thought somebody may be interested on here but there is a Husky 395XP (28" bar) for sale on Ebay £675:00 Buy it now and also make an offer + £25:00 postage. It says it has only been used 5 times and is in good nick. Would buy it myself if i had the spare cash. Dont know if I am allowed to do this, though the item is not mine and I dont know the seller, so sorry if I have breached any rules on here. All the best Gavin
  11. Sorry about that Saw, just thought Bobs post was hilarious. My first concern before even thinking about felling would be do you have the authorisation to fell them mate, i.e do you need a felling licence, are they within a AONB, SSSI etc... or are they subject to TPO or conservation area restrictions? My second would be not to get wet! You stated cut and fell in the same sentence mate, it may be me but cut implies reduction/pollard etc.. fell implies down to ground/coppice. Make sure whoever has contracted you knows what the score is. Good Luck, take yer wellies and snorkel
  12. I laughed my arse off at that one, top one that.
  13. Hey Woodpicker (sorry don't know your real name mate) If you are really stuck, I may be able to help but I am in Sussex at present and I would only be able to get there and work Thurs/Fri/Sat. I am a qualified and experienced (8 years) climber with NPTC CS30 - 40 (inclusive) competant in all aspects of Arb and Forestry, climbing, grounding, felling, chipper, MEWP etc.. I also have all my own climbing kit, ppe and saws. So if you are really stuck and the rates are good then give me a ring mate. Tel: 07825 447078 Good Luck Gavin Rowe
  14. Hey Dave Thanks for that. Have already priced up UA1, 2 & 5. Its about the same as getting your relevant rail tickets. I am sending my CV to varying companies up and down the land at present. I seem to do more computer than tree work, lol. Thanks again, appreciated. All the best Gavin
