  1. and coming down for a pee as well. lol
  2. i have seen that one before but always a great watch, it looks so romantic on film but imagine the realities of working with that equipement with trees of that size. i bet you had to take good care of your fingers in thoses days
  3. someone mentioned on here that a dry load of logs in a dumpy bag filled loose was about 250kgs.
  4. heres mine, but i have sold it so i will wave bye bye to it on friday, then the search for a new vehicle begins:001_smile:
  5. it looked a pig, usual with pollards. i used my ropeguide for 2 days last week on sycamore pollards, it was great especially with the hitch guide.
  6. nice one, i got some nice reading through the post yesterday about hydraulics, thanks guys for that, and if i need a hand with the seals i will give your man a call too, once again thankyou for your help and advice
  7. get a ropeguide mick, would of made that job a lot easier on the arms mate, did you take it right down or just the growth off??looking good
  8. nice one mate, i bet your heart was beating well on that job
  9. first was on a poplar stump and second was on spruce dave
  10. like this stuff dave, some cairngorm fungus just for you:001_cool:
  11. so if you are available for 24hour call out for one year, never get called upon, you wouldn't receive anything?
  12. could it be from an old branch that has decayed over winter dave?
  13. unfortunately yes mate:sad:
  14. there is no ganging up on here mesterh,it is just wesome of us have our views and he has his, blakes is holding his own in a debate, and i respect that a lot, he knows his maths and is sticking by his guns. whether i agree with him or not is another. this has been the best thread in ages, i had to go and walk the dogs there, so lets get back into it.
  15. his points are valid if mike was working the kit within 90%of its capabilities imo, but he isnt. and i think qtip sports the looks in your duo:001_tongue:
  16. so how long have you been climbing blake?
  17. marc is taking the photo, qtip is up the tree dean:001_tongue:
  18. is there 1 n in anal or 2??
  19. how long have you been cutting and climbing blakes:001_smile:
  20. bumble bees shouldnt be able to fly!
  21. you are the one arse shuffling backwards out a limb on your avatar blake, doesnt install to much confidence in your arguement now does it. i have done this job for 12 years profesionally now and have never had a rope break, tree snap or any serious accident, appart from those nasty little silky cuts, huck has been doing it even longer. we are still in 1 piece, huck dismantles every day with a remote hiab while climbing, if anyone knows about forces and working with trees it is him, mikes cv is just as impressive and dean isnt a stranger to a climbing line either mate
  22. i know, but the 2 are working as a team, mike obviously knows his guys skill level, i know if i am working with my mate i could shock drop a mini with an old climbing line and i would be fine but other new lads i would rather cut n chuck with because it isnt worth the hassle rigging with amateurs. and if i get one of reg's gadgets then there will be a few trees getting halved i can tell you:001_cool:
  23. that was one of the smoothest rigging i have seen, mike and his man certainly know what they are doing.
