  1. Morning all, we’ve finished for this year. Dog walking and eating it is from now on.
  2. Morning, sorry to read some of you are suffering just now. cold and dry here!
  3. Morning, crazy mild here. I’ve turned the heating off. It was 14 degrees yesterday. I’ve only got tomorrow to work and that me until next year.
  4. We walk at the side of the head, 2 people lengths away incase we trip. Like walking a crocodile on a 4m lead. I’ll average 15k steps a day on open ground, 10k in woodland work and gorse. Gorse I can’t walk beside so initial first run through I’ll walk behind with hammers revolving backwards to thro everything forward. On some jobs I only flail in reverse so I can stand in the 1 position.
  5. Morning! Dry here, strangely mild last night being 10 degrees at 9 pm. Don’t have a plan for today, I’ll just wait for an idea to come into my head and go with that till I’m bored.
  6. Morning guys, no idea about the weather as I’m not working so not fussed 😂off to Inverness for some supplies and to look at a job.
  7. Morning, slept in till 7.42am so had to rush to get out the door to go for physio. A fine bright fresh morning here about 1 degrees.
  8. Happy Birthday Mick, fare play at 60! Gorse job today with the Roboflail. IMG_4919.mov
  9. Morning, temp has dropped again, think it’s dry outside. Find out in 5 mins. Gorse mulching today.
  10. Morning all! It’s really mild here and the rains keeping away.
  11. Morning Pete! on site for 8.30am and was having the Monday morning couldn’t be arsed 😂 here now in the drizzle
  12. Doug what kind of dogs are they? Wire/long haired pointers/ Viszla or similar?
  13. Saturday morning special! Bright eyed and bushy tailed 😂
  14. Morning folks, stiff and achey with little motivation! Must be the crazy cold temperature getting into my bones. Haven’t looked outside yet. The lads got the last of my tree jobs done yesterday for this year so it’s a few days flailing for me and that’s it for this year. Going to look not 1 of these garden saunas, like a shed with a log burner. Anyone got 1?
  15. Evening! Apologies I’m getting sloppy with my signing in! -14 through the night here.
  16. Morning! Certainly milder through the night, still snow on the ground here at 1 degrees.
  17. Apologies, up and away early! Mild and melting the snow here.
  18. Morning, around -12 again last I heard through the night. A day of rest here.
  19. Morning! -13 last night at 9.30pm so maybe colder through the night. Got to love a Saturday morning long lie 😂 I’m mega excited as I’m heading to Inverness to get my youngest a laith for his Xmas/birthday! At his request! 15 and that’s what he wants! Then down to a mates to collect an old shed for the garden to put said Laith in. Ooft just remembered I bought pancakes last night!! Have a good day everyone!
  20. If your a mega fit, ripped Army dude who is never out the gym and always running and hiking then no bother. If you’re not then being in the army 13 years ago is like saying you were good at the long jump in P4. If you get stuck in now and graft with the 20 year olds at their pace then your back will be goosed within a year if you make it that long and that’s if your knees are shot already. I’d say you would be a great asset to any tree company, just not a climber or labourer. I’d give you the keys to the truck and get you to run the crew. Look after the youngsters. Speak to a large company, someone of your age and experience is sought after. Times are changing, mechanisation has come on leaps and bounds since the grapple saw was allowed in the UK these last few years. Big companies will also be able to justify MEWPS and cranes so more chance of you gaining some height with them. Good luck with whatever you do mate!
  21. Afternoon, no signal earlier to sign in as I was away early. Cracking day here.
