  1. Are you looking for a full time employee or sub contract groundie. Me and my climber come down to London regularly so could be available.
  2. Cheers, I'll have to give you a call soon and get some, Im really struggling with overheating.
  3. What has the feedback on those been like. Are they alot lighter than normal chainsaw trousers.
  4. Would they be the 'progress' trousers. Got a pair of inovation pro SIP, nice and hard wearing but so damn hot and heavy.
  5. Whats the MTV (mean tree volume), average timber height, total volume/ha and access. I wouldn't go into it with out know these right from the start. What do you mean by grade 5? There is the potential for quite a bit of money to be made. If there is only just over 100 stems in a couple of acres i would assume a fairly mature crop?
  6. Dont feel bad about it Mark, I weigh less and still cant pull my fat arse up a tree! I'm working on it though.
  7. You could try CRL (coppice resources ltd) they deal with drax power station, although they mostly work with biomass crops its worth a go. Used to be based up near retford. Where is it being cut. Im based near Spilsby at the moment if you are every in need of a sub contractor.
  8. I was interested to find out that the college has recruited another instructor/technician that only graduated this summer. Although I don't doubt his ability, surely more experience is needed for this full time position, or is the college getting desperate and taking on more students than it and the industry can cope with or needs. My experiences at the college revealed an unofficial policy of quantity over quality. This isnt a reflection on you or Jonny but rather the upper management who seem to be growing the establishment beyond it limits. Rant over.
  9. A French company (Saelen) have already done this. Check out: SAELEN multi-vegetation chipper/shredder & http://www.saelen-industrie.com/Pdf/page_co2reduction_UK.pdf
  10. Try looking here: Artcom Tradebridge Ltd
  11. Any updates on this new type of 'chipper/chopper'?
  12. Sounds a lot like Sparsholt, too many chavs not enough natural selection (Damn HSE).
  13. I'm currently studying for my FdSc in Forestry at Sparsholt. We have a lot of lectures with the FdSc Arbs, especially in the first year. We have seperated a bit into our own fields now after our placement years though. Do you have to do a placement year at other colleges?
  14. Does anyone here have any experience of or an good opinion of the timberwolf 13/75G chipper? I'm looking at aquiring one as most of the chipping I need to do will be relatively small so anything else seems rather like overkill. Any advice?
