  1. Here ya go. Dont follow this vid to the letter though as I tend to go too far before tending the slack. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9V75732hsA]YouTube - mick vt.mp4[/ame]
  2. Boufant and nail extensions will win over any future employer. Dress to impress.
  3. The Regiment was worth doing, got plenty of flying in with that job.
  4. Smart casual Will. What job did you do in the RAF ukminch ?
  5. Like yer style Phil, always thinking of others:thumbup1:
  6. Weve been through this before and there is nothing to say that we are not qualified to carry out tree surveys.
  7. And tree surgeons are capable of doing all three jobs. Boy it pisses me off when people say we are semi skilled.
  8. Walk into the office, punch the gaffer square between the eyes and tell him to shove his job right up his backside.
  9. Agreed, Ive heard people actually ask for tea while they've been working for me and it makes me cringe beyond belief. Wait til you're asked is what I tell em.....FFS manners cost nothing.
  10. Ditto, dont go over stepping the mark Will and blow it for yourself.
  11. And the bar cover is a dream Mark. It actually works unlike Stihl's.
  12. Tell ya what Will, I like the way you stood yer ground and weren't afraid to say what ya thought. Fair play mate
  13. 25cc mate. Nick, yeah it's stiffish but reckon that will ease with use.
  14. Bought this for the smaller jobs. Not as a replacement for the 200 or as a back up in case the 200 breaks but just to use as a small lightweight topper for jobs such as conny hedges that over the years have been let go. You know the jobs I mean, conny hedges that have been topped before and become multi stemmed. Anyhow the way I see it is like this, you have a choice, cut by hand with a Silky or employ the 200 which is heavy and over powered for such small jobs. The AMA IMO is a nice little trade off between the two, I refer to it as my 'Motorised Silky' I used it yesterday for the purpose that I intended it for and can honestly and whole heartedly say that it is super fit for what I intended it for.
  15. You are obviously keen, hard working and eager to impress Will, traits that I havn't been able to find in young workers to date. I'm sure you'll do well but dont forget that most people struggle a bit at your age, it's just life. Anyhow if you were closer to me I'd gladly find some work for you, you sound to me like you're worth £50 a day. Dont forget to tell Andy that, the next time you work for him..
  16. Jesus Christ Will, have you read the whole thread and understood it ? The whole point is they dont wanna do hard manual work.
  17. £3.53 is about right. A kid with no experience, only has to turn up with his pack up and nothing else, get stuck in and work his way up the ladder until he's good enough to warrant more money. Then and only then might be able to afford a car. Mate you sound like it's a god given right to be driving at seventeen, no it's something you work hard for like everything else in life.
  18. Times have changed. I remember my first ever job, the first Monday after leaving school I started at a builders merchant. I'll never forget my legs buckling from under me when the cement delivery came in, 110Ib bag on your shoulder off the back of a flatbed truck. Everyone laughed which made me so determined to prove to them that I could do it. They did'nt laugh for long, I soon proved I was worth having around. I'm embarrased at English kids today. Me n Plippy asked Vitali what he thought of young English workers.....He just started laughing.
  19. Yeah I got his number Phil. What's the £2 about ?
  20. "An excellent two days, well organised and plenty to see and do" Or "All the fun of the fair with log fighting to boot"........
  21. Why am I having trouble finding someone young that can graft ? I've had enough of taking kids on for a days trial only to watch their pathetic ways when it comes to grafting. I dont think I'm going to bother with English kids anymore, they just aint up to it. Monday, take a kid out for a trial after his dad kept badgering me to give him a go, he weren't worth tuppence and in fact turned out to be a liability. Plippy lost his voice cos he had to constantly shout at him. I've not seen anyone so slow and useless since the last English kid I gave a days work to. Anyhow on site and only there to drive the dumper when it was full of chip was a young Lithuainian called Vitali, boy that fella could graft. He did'nt have to do anything but could'nt help himself and got stuck in, so at the end of the day I gave him a drink. He would'nt take it so I put it in his pocket. He only went and put it on the chipper and simply refused it. English kids had better buck up I reckon.
  22. :laugh1:I'll still out work sprogs when I'm Ninety.
  23. That back has another good 25year in it with the splitter. Probably only ten on the maul.
