This was a concern for me. I spoke to HR and they advised that it shouldn't be a problem as I will be working in Hertfordshire and operating my business in Bedfordshire. I have told them from the outset this was my plan.
Good move, its not going to stop some thinking you are all colluding at the NATO National Association of Tree Officers meeting but that's the nature of the beast.

Have you considered the conflict of interest angle?
I can see plenty of scope for contractors to get rubbed up the wrong way and terms like gamekeeper turned poacher or conflict of interest drifting about.
Make sure your employer know about it or you could be buying a van and a huge headache at the same time.

Any pros or cons to doing it like this?
Security for one, nothing more than a pane of safety glass between the scotes and your kit. Ditch a seat or 2 and get a security box fitted. The price of security is eternal vigilance

Think you might have overcooked that one a tad
Not to worry, the inside will still be nice and raw to make up for it:laugh1:

Or go to the top of this page and click on the knot guide button

Just got this trailer, the trailer bed is made of 6mm steel sheet but looking to prevent wear, as every time I tip loads like the pic a little bit of metal gets scraped off too! Don't really want to use ply as I don't think it will last, thinking of recycled plastic sheets 10mm called stock boards. Is there a better method- welding metal wear strips lengthways for example?
That's a good picture of a tipping trailer doing what it was designed to do.
If you don't like the idea of the load bed getting scratched, wait till some numpty on a 360 gives it a love tap.
If its going to be on rough work, price any maintenance onto the rate.

not sure on that one, apart from sounding a tad illegal, is the van second hand? did you buy it from a private seller? if so how do you explain the seller allowing you to pay it off in three yearly instalments?
WTF????
What's it like on the planet where you live

You need to man up and tell her that you are the one wearing the trousers, in a physical and metaphorical sense

I'm new to this forum so hello all .I have a Husquavana chainsaw which is going to be out of action for a couple of weeks due to repair,I have a large pile of logs in the garden that need cutting ready for splitting. There is a saw on eBay for £39.99 probably not a very good saw but if it could do my logs will be worth it and could keep it as a spare or sell it on.The item number is 112350814986 most of the same saws ere twice this price do you think it is genuine or a scam thanks.
Tell the repair man to get on with it or take it elsewhere

Cant see much for all that darkness, the "shoulder" looks a bit sudden, have you ruled a graft site rather than a pathogen out?
-
Be better on wheels, much quicker and no "sprag" steering damage

Does the two-year expiry period not seem like a massive rip-off to everyone?
Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
For sure

this picture is over ten years old!
and several of those protesters were indeed arrested
Has it been around that long? and these people are still making good on those threats.

I recon you have the title wrong, OK, so that's not what you would call best practice but why didn't the PLANNERS condition tree protection, why have they allowed such an encroachment at all??????
Blame the person that signed off on the planing

might even find some edible ones
Or some with "other properties"

The fungi will persist till the fuel (organic matter) is exhausted then it will stop naturally
Trying to stop it would be a huge undertaking and an effort in futility
Tell the owner its simply the environment freeing up resources for his new plants to use

Meanwhile out on site the CSCS card thing is little more than a box ticking exercise that site agents are forced to complete. Got you card, a bit of PPE and some "hi vis"? One site induction (or not) later and you are on site.
I have worked as a tree surgeon on countless sites for clients big and small including some major infrastructure projects, and none has never asked for anything more than the base level "operative" card.

Not sure can so easily blame the tree
My definition of a barbers chair would be when the faller cocks up.

Nope, its the internet and that's a global thing:thumbup1:

The rain cover was an optional extra but where you would find one now

Here you go, one David Brown rain cover for those with a "Hypothermia" model cab

Free to a good home one copy of the ISA certification study guide
Its the first edition but most of it is still relevant
First come would be a bit unfair so to give everyone a chance we just need to know why you deserve this font of all knowledge.
I will get one of the moderators to pick the winner from the responses in this thread on Sunday the 26/3/2017
Its even free postage but UK mainland only.

That kind of drying is slow, chuck em through a rinse and short spin, they wont be dry but clean and nearly dry is a big improvement
Advice sought for new Arb business.

Best option (IMO) is to get a security box fitted in a DC or behind the cab in a SC and become obsessive about locking it if you are more than a yard away.
I was working on a small detonator for inside the saw fuel tank, to be smartphone triggered in the event of theft but apparently, my scrote Flambé device is against H&S rules and the "toast a scote" remains on the drawing board. Ho hum
