  1. on my last day with Delabodge...Me and Glyn took down an Oak each and the spec was to leave the Arrisings to burn and the Ringed up wood and logs...made it a lot easier but there was a lot of Timber to stack etc...Dangerous Dave forgot the mallet..The trunks were going to be milled but weren,t in the end as there was so much sap wood it didn,t seem worthwhile just for a small ammount of slabs..That was my last job with D.L.B and time to meet up with Mick and the lads..

That was indeed the moment when the last two weeks caught up!"...i've got lots of pics to upload tonight...thanks agin Mick ,Rich Rule and of course my new Northern Brother..Mark Bolam..thanks for your hospitality and friendship:):)..week off travelling...next week and hopefully i'll go up north to see my Son and Grandchild so may be off the radar for a spell.....will complete the final episode when i arrive back at home in Kew:thumbup::thumbup:

It is twenty past 12...i made it to Bolams:thumbup:mick was there and thanks to Rich Rule for giving me a lift:cool:cool chilled drink with the lads and great crack....they've all crashed:p...i'm last one standing by a country mile!...guess i'm the winner of the drinking competition:D:D...but i had an advantage....i'm from Durham:)...we're hardcore:p:...really nice to spend an evening at what was the end of a hard week...so enjoyable:thumbup::thumbup:...looking forward to a week off from travelling:)..goodnight Arbtalk:thumbup:...i' m gonna swig one last beer then sleep..........

Just got on train towards rich rule...i havent stopped since monday!!...at least i,m on my way to final job of the week and a good drink with the Northern lads and my mate mick:beer::beer:..ok will post todays pics later but here is the bonus from the Delabodge crew...this jacket belonged to Dangerous Dave...Aka "the Sarge":D...and saw service in Afghanistan:thumbup:..i said i liked it so he gave it to me and i will wear it with great Pride...and Clive turned me a baby rattle for my Grandchild from cherry:thumbup:...Great lads!!....see ya soon Mick and Mr Bolam:beer::beer::beer::beer:

I would like to work with you one day mate:thumbup:we did meet a couple of years ago at Capel...had a good night watching the lads playing the crazy stick throwing game:)....stayed at Dave's while he went on the prowl after his lass:D..ultimate bachelor pad on an estate with an awsome hot log burner and surrounded by woodland. Got to sleep about 11,Woke at 6.15 so a lot more sleep than i usually get:thumbup:...got the oak to fell then on to the last job of the week with mick!....Happy days:cool:

Silky's log...stardate??...this picture sums it up...Delaboge and the lads who are putting me up for the night have invited me to their local watering hole for a cloudy cider or two over the local sport of "Aunt Sally" where one team has to hit a wooden dolly of a stand using big sticks!..started the day with bacon sarnies followed by a quick cyprus dismantle over a pond...two oak fells tommorow...one of which is to be milled in a ten foot section immediatly on the Alasken:thumbup:...very friendly team here at Delabodge..strong Cider and i don't usually drink:p...pictures tommorow.... hic!!!"...looking forward to the last boss of the week on thursday night...Lord Stockbridge of Kent:)

  21. Seem to remember fencing pliers and some sort of tool for tensioning wire when i last built a stock fence years ago...good on you for taking up fencing..people pay well for a quality fence..could get tree work out of it and visa versa:thumbup:

Caffeine fix... just downloaded rail planner app..essential for any travelling Arborist...looking slightly uneasy..bad radio reception means i'm stuck listening to will young or lionel richie a minor irritation for the silky fox:cool: feeling good about my two days in Twyford..good team and maybe a real ale or two in the "Jolly Fisherman" later:)
