  1. Hi, just wondered if anyone else who did papers 2 & 3 for the tech cert last month have had their results through yet? Am sure someone said we should be hearing back within 3-4 weeks?
  2. have been checking out petzl website and it seems to me that the bodfast is basically the sit fast but with the upper body attachment. pre-suming i'd be able to disconnect the upper part and just use the basic harness then i guess it would be a simple entry tree harness, they seem to retail for about £100 which, if price is anything to go by, probably isn't going to be all that comfy. thanks for feedback everyone, might consider buying the 2 bodfast harnesses cheap, sell on ebay and use the proceeds to buy a sequoia, mate of mine uses one and loves it. john dawson, you mention having a skylotec, would you recommend it?
  3. Thanks...didn't know you could fit D's on it? will have to check it out on the petzl site. might be a chance of second harness going cheap, if so do you want me to let you know? cheers
  4. I've recently been offered a petzl navaho bod fast harness (cheap)...they're not technically listed under arb harnesses but i've checked through all the specks and compared it to a petzl sequoia and they seem almost identical on en regs etc, if anything the bod fast seems to come out as a bit safer? does anyone have experience or opinions on whether or not these navaho bod fasts are ok for tree work?
  5. I've had a look at some young Scots pines today that have a large amount of yellowed needles along with some white mouldy type stuff on the stems and twigs..am i looking at a woolly aphid here or mould?? have consulted various books but can't seem to get a definative answer on i.d. or treatment??
  6. I see you guys are doing the Tech Cert. I've recently put a deposit down to start this coming September at Weston Birt, it's a hefty price all in and was wondering what you all think of the course? do you think it will help you along in industry?? I'm hoping to get into consultantcy in the distant future and so figured i need to get back into the classroom, do you think this course is the logical way to go? some of the exam questions you've been posting seem pretty tough, seems like i'll need to get some reading in before the course kicks off!
