Hello Jim

I got a message from you the other day in reply to a ad' I put out looking for surveying work.

To be honest I think I have meet you a few times whilst I was at Glendale. Are you still at Glendale? My name is James Langner and I was working in the south lincs patch for alf, griff and martin.

If your the same Jim I am thinking (forgive me if not) then you'll know who am working with at the moment. If the job opening you have is with Glendale am not 100% sure in all honesty, their where, or at least I had issues with the pay towards the end.

Anyways give us a message back and look after yourself.

 3. The key word there is 'justified'... Access difficulties, ground conditions, locality of live electrical equipment, weather conditions, road traffic for example are all things for a climber to consider when planning mewp use. If there are reasons why a mewp should not be used, then climbing is 'justified'. Hope that helps - anyway, back to work!
 4. WORKING AT HEIGHT REGULATIONS 2005 These Regulations say that climbing work with a personal fall protection system (rope and harness) - can only be undertaken if: 1 - A risk assessment has demonstrated that the work can be performed safely while using that system. 2 - The use of other, safer work equipment (e.g. mobile elevating work platform) is not justified. 3 - The user and a sufficient number of available persons have received adequate training specific to the operation envisaged, including rescue techniques. ;-/

 9. Has anyone posted short notice requests on here and had any success? We occasionally find ourselves let down by the odd client and because we specialise in Utility Arb cannot just drop the guys on something else that day. We can actually find ourselves finding out 4pm regarding work being cancelled for the following day. Instead of getting the guys 'logging up' round the back, I wondered if anyone else thought it might be useful to use this forum to advertise something like '2 guys, 30,31,38,39, 4x4 trk chipper available for the next 2 days' on this site. Any thoughts? Anyone done this before? Is there/should there be a thread here just geared towards passing round our resources in order to help each other out every now and again? Jim
