  1. Bill Hicks was funny.
  2. I admire "random blokes on ladders". I mean, what was he doing there with them ladders, hes got no bucket of cement, no trowels, no tape measure. Im suspicious of this chap already.
  3. He might be nice as pie on the phone then break the speed limit racing down there to offer a better price. haha. or maybe not, but defo do the job before ringing him, i mean what are you expecting? his permission to earn money? dont degrade yourself. But after the jobs done then by all means ring for a chit chat, see how he is doing then drop it on him that you robbed 10 grand out of his kids inheritence fund hahaha
  4. haha, no seriously.
  5. i'd ring him after you have done the job and brag.
  6. looks sunny and bright to me. haha joking. theres always something put in front of us to hold us back, thats why we love it so much. What did the "good looking" customer have to say bout her favourite conifer. haha
  7. was the chap up the roofing ladders telling you which branches to cut haha.
  8. I like the way you say you took photos during tea breaks, yet everyone else in the photo was working haha. Slacker.
  9. http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arborist
  10. Haha, sorry but that made me laugh.
  11. 100 quid to everyone if I dont (will that work out to be alot??)
  12. Im getting nervous about having to do a speech now. I am willing to BET every member of Arbtalk that I will mention Trees in one way or another in my speech.
  13. I got 4 pairs of Hi-Flex for £100 from a mate of mine who works at a generic Electricity line clearance company, so I'll be sticking with Stihl for a little while yet. haha
  14. 100% with you. Nice one Dean. If more people had the same attitudes the world would be a better place. Can get in trouble for full on Vigilante mob tactics tho.
  15. I always treat a customers garden as if it were my own. ( so scrap bits of old engines, piles of logs and chip, empty beer cans, and a broken football net all round then.)hahaha only joking. Leaving a site clean and tidy doesnt take 3 hours sweeping and cleaning like a housewife, you just need a backpack leaf blower and 10mins. Sweep the dust under the rug as it were. haha
  16. cheers mate.
  17. Frank

just an average day. whats with the girly little top, he coulda come down 15'.

  20. I know. Turns your hands yellow aswell hahaha
  21. just had 500 gallons of Oil delivered aswell, £340.
  22. A friend of mine just had a Straw burner fitted, runs heating and hot water, cost bout 4grand fitted, but you can chuck anything in. Fence panels, mother-in-law etc etc. haha
  23. Got 3 to do when I get back from honeymoon, Crane job, all in a day. And as i say Ive got a full street to look at 2moro, 14 trees in all, and apparently FC have already been down and taken samples from the first tree to show. Bit of a worrie, was looking forward to getting the laces out my boots and teaching my son all bout conkers. haha. But seriously 49%???? does that sound excessive??
  24. Thats the best thing ive read in ages.
  25. No you cant but having a real passion for what you do and the way you conduct yourself contribute massively to getting work. I have got loads of work when I've not even been the cheapest quote. Ive told people to let the cheaper company have the job because I'm not prepared to do it for any cheaper and still had them ring back saying "when can you do it"? Another little thing I find helps is how you answer your phone, first impressions and all that. If you ring my work phone you will be greeted by "Good Morning/Afternoon East Yorkshire Trees" every time.
