  16. Can do weekend if you fancy it Mr H??? Not THAT far from you..... straight down the A10.... Simples.
  17. Yes folks, 100% genuine........ totally gratis logs/Cordwood! Mate of mine has a job booked in this week,,,,, taking down a big Cedar in the grounds of a school on the Herts Essex border. Job has been booked in to coinside with the half term hols, however his log man rang this morning and announced that he couldn't make it. My mate is purely a climber and has no interest in log/firewood re-sale - i've attached a few pics to give an idea of timber volume, but the long and short of it, is that everything must go!!!! Would ideally suit someone who has a quiet week this week, and looking for timber to re-stock their log pile - tree is situated right beside a Tarmac road so access is no problem....... can even be easily accessed by grab lorry!!! Site is located between Stevenage and Hertford herts, and is close to local motorway network... A1, A414, A110, M25. Anyone interested, please either PM me on here, or call me on (07881) 446345. Cheers.
  18. There you go Rupe..... surely the pub factor makes it all worthwhile???
  19. A good find John..... Just filled in the booking form, so hopefully see you there.
  20. The ISA has its own forum space on here........ Associations & Organisations - Arbtalk.co.uk | Discussion Forum for Arborists You could try picking other ISA members brains on there.
  21. But there is though mate...... as a professional in your respective field, with your own doubts as to ownership of the tree, are you not being neglegent by not making sure?? Honestly, (and by all means check it with your mate), if Rik fells the tree and it turns out NOT to belong to the client, a defence of "I though it was his tree!" will get him laughed at, with a big fat compensation bill to boot.
  22. Yeah, but that's not the scenario though Dean...... If the tree was in the middle of the garden, then yeah, there's 99% no doubt about ownership, but this tree (from what Rik says) is smack bang on the boundary, so there's a 50/50 chance it could belong to the other party. The only proof that it belongs to the client, is the client's say-so. As for criminal damage, don't forget that there's also Civil proceedings as well....... the "other" neighbour could quite easily file civil proceedings in an attempt to gain damages/compensation for wrongfull/unlawfull distruction of property. If it's a fairly sizeable and significant tree, then using something like Helliwell or CAVAT, it would be fairly easy to estimate an appropriate "value" to the tree, which could ultimately end up being the £££s figure claimed back by way of compensation. For what's at stake if it goes wrong, it's just not worth the risk......... Ignorance, is no defence in law.
