  1. there is some treework here, but sometimes its a struggle to get through with modern treecare. we have got a lot age old scool climbers, that do topping and prune wearing spikes. just last week, we removed 7 medium beech trees, previously topped and spiked :-( it is weird, that treecare is so un developed as a profession here. we generally have a pretty high level of education in dk. about cuts, I normally position myself a little under or behind the cut and then cut straight through. taking in to consideration that it shouldn't pinch the saw.
  2. some of the main branches over the road could (almost) haved been dropped down. we only used the crane to protect the sidewalk and road. therefore we didn't place several chains on them, as it didn't matter if they rolled a bit. we made sure that they swung away a bit from the climber, so no danger :-) we rarely use a chipper when we can gain access with the lorry. its 15 meter crane lifts wood a lot better than the backs of my buddies on the ground ! :-) and it is easy to get rid of branch waste around here, so no need for noisy chippers.
  3. Here is a link to a new video, we made a couple of weeks ago :-) got a lift for the camera guy.

    Tachyon

I have just ordered a new Tachyon/Lava rope. Should have it wednesday. Glad to hear, that most of you guys are happy for it. :-)
  10. Yeah! Of couse. I love getting out.... That sounds good. Can't you mail me that number? What kind of course is it? Who is running it?
  11. Hi. I work in Denmark and I'm looking for a course/seminar about crown support systems (like Cobra). I have some experience on the subject, but I would like to get a certificate or so... I have been speaking to some German guys, but all the courses were in German.... Hope you can help me!!!?
  12. Hi again. I've now tried the Ocean P. out. I think it is too stiff, and it often fails to grab. I use a 10mm o.p. on a 11mm Samson Velocity line. Used the o.p. for two days and then went back to my old 10mm soft heat, wich is very reliably compared to the o.p. I use a 4 wrap vt. prusik. What is your experiences? Does it help to use another knot or....?
  13. I have bought 10 meters - but haven't tryed it yet. :-) Have been using "Soft Heat" 10mm for half a year, and have been really happy about it. The ocean polyester seems quite hard - i hope it will bite ok??? I expect to try it out this week.... Anyone has experience with it? And what kind of WT do you use?
  14. Hi. Does anyone now when the Swedish clim. comp. and the European masters take place? They are to take place in Malmö, aren't they? Cheers. Peder.
  15. I bought a tophandled ecco six years ago (I didn't have that much money back then). It was absolutely useless!!! 100% plastic, weak engine, the airfilter-cab was falling of when you where in the tree, etc.... After a week I stored it in my bacement and bought a husqvarna 339t. That was a good saw, but the stihl 200t is far the best you can get! I now use a 200t with 14" guidebar. It's a waist of time and money to try and buy cheap chainsaws. It's the same with climbing gear...!
  16. That explained it well! I need to get me one of those. Thanks a lot! It must be possible to fit that over my cocoon prussik!? I'll try it out. Cheers!
  17. Hi. You need to buy some 11 mm Velocity (from Samson). That is the best rope i have ever had! I use it every day. The 11 mm is much easier to climb on. And it is much lighter that a 13 mm rope. I use a 10mm Softheat prussik (VT). It works really well on the 11mm Velocity. http://www.freeworker.de/store/seile/klemmknotenseile/soft-heat.html I think the only disadvantage of an 11mm rope is when it is really whet and slimy - it it harder to grib the rope the thinner rope. I sometimes swich to my old 13mm rope when it is really nasty. Never ever (!) buy "Black lizard". http://www.freeworker.de/store/seile/statische_seile/black-lizard.html I have a 50 meter 11 mm and it is useless! It behaves like it is 30% dynamic. Impossible to climb on and a disaster for footlocking. I used it for a week, and then disided to buy an extra velocity rope. By the way it is Christmas in a couple of days - and I have 12 days off!
  18. It's hard to see the "extra" ring. Do you think you can upload some pics of your new wonder? There must be a way to "prime" my new ropeguide, so the cocoon pulley can slide through the eye splice without getting stuck. It get stuck almost everytime you try to retreive without something attached to the eye.
  19. What do you mean by a spliced alloy ring? My old RopeGuide has an alluminum ring, which the pulley always comes through. But the ring gets cought a lot in branchunions, when you retreive it. Can I see some pics of the new rg primus?!!! I am very interestet in seeing, how that extra ring works!!!!
  20. Before... (I know it is obviously, but I had to write some image text... ) Retreival with the ring still in place.. It is very hard to pull the cocoon through. You really have to "shake it" a lot. Retreival where the ring has slided out of place... It is almost impossible to pull the cocoon through.
  21. I have now used my new ropeguide primus quite a lot. It works excellent (!) when you want to retreive it with a rope (or throwline) tied in to the eye splice. It never gets stuck. BUT (!) - if you whant to retreive it without having tied anything to the eye, it is almost impossible to pull the cocoon through the eye splice. Especially is the plastic ring has slided so the cocoon sling doesn't "rest" on the ring in the eye (see the last photo). Does someone has an idea for improvement?!
  22. Thanks! :-) My german isn't that good. Well - I get a "new" harness in a few days for 35 euro....
  23. Hi guys! I have just received an answer from Teufelberger. As far as I can understand (I am from Denmark), the bottom line is, that they wont give me a free warranty fix, as it is the construction of the harness, that causes the wear on the leg webbings. But wasn't that the whole idea? Because of the "wrong" construction of the harness? How many of you have gotten a free warranty fix? And what was the argument? They said that they would fix my harness for 35 euro, so I just said OK to that. After all I have send it from Denmark to Austria - which is about 35 euro.
  24. I went to a climbing competition, where they inspected my TreeMotion. At the time it was about 4 weeks old, and I got comments about the wear on the leg-webbings. I was really disappointed about that, but besides from that the harness is excellent! :-) Where can you get the webbings replaced? The manufacurer or the dealer? Stay safe. P.
  25. Thanks Peter. :-)
