  1. Back over to you or someone else then, didn't mean to take over! For those who have seen THX though, have you seen the remastered on eor the original? The original was so painful to watch but the remastered one has special affects added recently like he did with star wars.
  2. Its in my nerdy anorak film collection in the same section as star wars! same director, and the black and white uniforms are very similar, black military ish for the bad guys and white judo type suits for the good ones......
  3. good work and the character? Also the name of the film? Should be easy now..............
  4. Another good one! clint is one year older but still has his own hair. This guy was pretty much bald before they shaved the rest off for this film and is pretty much bald in nearly every film he's made since! unless they put a wig on him. (Thats why kinglsey was a good guess, very similar looking in the hair department)
  5. Yes, brains, that is what he was implying!
  6. We all like it, no doubt about that. So it was the slip that cost you your teeth, if thats justification for a DMM then you go for it!
  7. he was just born in 1971! This actor was born in 1931 so he's 80 now and still going strong.
  8. Good guess, but this actor is older than kinglsey and probably a bigger name. American too. Bonus point for Ben kingsley real name though??
  9. That would be un-inexperienced!
  10. He said he was inexperienced.
  11. Maybe they could back the truck up close to a chipper and fire the chips into the back!!?? The thread was about a crane job, give them some credit that they have actually thought through the options!!
  12. Not much better. But the imagery is all there.......my only clue is 1971
  13. I enlarged it!! It was a thumbnail pic, the large version didn't have the copy function enabled. I'll see if I can screen grab it................
  14. Who!!!! I had to look him up. lol! No its a major hollywood actor, quite early in his career.
  15. Heres mine then actor in white and his character name..............
  16. There is no doubt that they are lovely. I think the price is a major factor, if they were the same as the isc ones and I was starting out i would probably buy just the DMM ones. But at the same time I do like the simple ropbustness of the isc ones and all their stuff. Like you say "legendary"! I have four ISC blocks, and its rare to use more than three, but to go out and buy three DMMS (one large and two small) would be a big outlay. I think maybe the combination of both is a winner though, and select the right pulley for the job in hand. I really like the DMM one, but all it does it let a rope run through it. I dont think they are worth getting excited over, ooh ahh isn't it shiny! Maybe one day a psychologist will write a thesis on arbs and their need for shiny kit! I'm as guilty as the next but I keep my sceptical wits about me too!
  17. I could look it up but that would be cheating though right?
  18. Ethan Hawke in traning day, but the character, now your asking jack something??
  19. And my answer was yes I have used one so I am in a positon to discuss it. Smaller and lighter is not that relevant once its attached. How is the DMM different in that you dont need to use your teeth? I cant see where your coming from there so I dont think you can use the cost of your teeth as recomendation for the DMM. Ive never needed to use my teeth for holding a block in place, and I am also well aware of what front teeth cost. ( I lost mine jumping a 5 bar gate on my raleigh chopper in 1979, well failing to jump it!) If you mean the little loop on the DMM for tempory attachment then one could easily be added to an isc block for the same purpose. I think with harness you choose whats best for you, and your using it everyday. Blocks a are used a lot less, so what I'm looking for is a distinct difference in purpose, to justify the extra costs. I'm not against spending, I have a GRCS and all manner of kit to go with, but I've not had to justify any costs. £220 ish for a block would take some justification IMO. And its only my opinion.
  20. All three points to me then!
  21. What could you achieve that you couldnt have done without it? If you have just done your rigging course then get 2 isc blocks for the same price to start with, more is better. You dont need to go straight out and get a DMM block. PLus you shouldn't need to save for it, when you get a job that requires this kind of kit you should be gettign paid enough to warrant it if that makes sense? i.e. any job that needs a £200+ rigging block must be worth well over 2k. any 1k tree dimantle can be done with smaller isc blocks imo, and once you have done 10 of those you can treat yourself to a DMM anyway. The bit in the video I mean was about 2.10 looks like a speed line set up to me?
  22. Ah, you mean her character name!! Her stage name is Reese witherspoon her real name is Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon Misunderstanding there.
  23. "cruel intentions"!!!
  24. You only know two of her films as well then!!
  25. But the full name is right isn't it?? If its not LB then my next guess would be sweethome Alabama, after that I'm stuck, I'm not a huge fan of the type of films she does although I think she is ok.
