  1. Yeah some where, but it wasn't rocket science, just had log burner at one end and fan drawing at the other. stayed hot for ages. filled the log burner once a day.
  2. Sorry for my poor humour. Would like to here from any one with a Cscs card and first aid who needs a months work.
  3. In Preston area, must have first aid & Cscs card. Immediate Start. Some felling work but mostly standing around doing not very much for 4 weeks, just need 2 people on site so no lone workings (other bloke operating a machine). Would suit a grafter who fancies a break or one of those myerscough graduate climbers who thinks as he has his cs38 he has the right to dance in a tree for 3 hours a day and get a full days wage. Preferably someone over 30. Ring 07892828286
  4. Spotted my old insulated container on ebay that I used as a kiln a few years ago. Lad in wigan bought it off me. Log burner and fan and 5 days to dry 10 cube. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=140914471022&index=0&nav=SEARCH&nid=84308111349 Not sure if that link will work But otherwise search for 'insulated storage container'.
  5. When vehicle is put into 4wd vehicle it struggles to move but does a bit. So engine struggles then cuts out, almost like auto shut down. Apparently it does it in high and low range. Any ideas? It's fine in 2wd, vehicle has been stood for a few months. Read something on a forum about a vacuum operation to engage hubs??. Also read something about freezing up of mechanism?? Any ideas appreciated.
  6. 6 to 15 inch timber in Skelmersdale. PM offers, I can arrange transport. Was cut 3 months ago.
  7. I have decided to auction off 4000 bags in the next few weeks in 1000 bag lots to make logistics easier. the auction will be on BidSpotter.co.uk just type 'kindling' in the search criteria. I will post again when the auction goes live.
  8. why not get your local farbicator to make one for £100.
  9. Anyone know of an agricultural contractor Who has Telehandler and muck grab or tractor and front loader and grab?
  10. On the way to the local supermarket I pass the Derian House childrens hospice and everytime it makes me think of the poor children situated there, and how scared I would have been as a child in their situation. I presume the vast majourity of the kids understand their own circumstances to a degree. Welcome to Derian House Childrens Hospice - Derian House Childrens Hospice - Registered Charity based in Chorley, UK I have therefore decided to donate the full selling price of the remaining net bags of kindling I have to the hospice. We have produced circa 22,000 bags this year and I think there are 5000 - 6000 bags left in the warehouse in Wigan. I am therefore hoping to raise £5000 (£1 a bag for a 4kg bag). All bags have been indoors 1-4 months and were due to be sold in March. The only cost that will not be donated will be the price to cover the delivery / carriage. A pallet of 64 bags delivered locally (within 30 miles of Wigan) will be around £30 a pallet and £18 for a half pallet if deliveries can be grouped together. If several pallets are sold in one area say Yorkshire then again carriage can be kept low. A pallet of 64 bags will be approx £55 for carriage nationally. A half pallet of 32 bags should be approx £35 for carriage nationally. A photo ofa pallet is shown below. I am going to speak to the hospice on Wednesday and find out the easiest way for buyers to transfer payment to the hospice and if a seperate payment will have to be made from buyers for the carriage / delivery. Another idea was for arb suppliers to sell on the kindling from there stores and make even more for the charity or even a secondary charity. Please show any interest while I find the easiest way to organise the whole infrastructure and I invite comments to see if I am going about this the right way. Thanks, David Riding
  11. Anyone got a yard near Sandbach where we could store a tractor and 14 tonne chipper for a week?
  12. Think I'm going to keep my keto 51 on put a 2nd computer in 7 tonne takeuchi, same as you want to do.
  13. How does the 4wd work on the farmi / nokka / Weimer etc, trailers, I have seen the cone mechanism between the wheels but wondered if others have a different system?
  14. Your welcome to come and hit it with a sledge hammer and see how you get on. 3 skins outer skin at least 7.
  15. I did consider the crane mounted on a rear frame but would it not tie up your 3pl / pto and have less mobility (180 degrees) with the crane when not harvesting? if you put the crane on the rear chassis I presume you might as well buy a purpose built thinning harvester?
  16. stability is fine, buy obviously good operator helps. yeah all done through pto / tank on back, so basically 130hp of independent hydraulic power.
  17. Excuse the slow operator he's a beginner!! Not really used it much since setting it up in June cause of clearance work taking priority over forestry. I'm thinking of selling with forwarding trailer if anyone's interested. Will harvest to 14 inch no problem. (12 inch pop in video).
  18. Chipwood is low grade lengths of timber, the stuff that is no use to saw mills. Nothing to do with shred or chip.
