    Had the same thing about 4 months ago, the prostate is very difficult area to get the antibiotics to. Plus the medication is required to be taken for I think 6-8 weeks and not just a few weeks like some GP's prescribe. Im afraid it boils down to quality of care. I have private health care and I went to see a consultant with in 4 days. Could obviously take a lot longer on NHS. It can defo be sorted with the right attention. A consultant will arrange an intravenous antibiotic and massage the prostate if required to make sure it gets to the right place. Mine went after 2 weeks and I didnt need the prostate massage etc. If its that bad pay £200 to see a consultant and I guess about £400 for the treatment. Have you had a prostate examination? the pain could easily be something else like kidney infection, testicular infection etc.. Yours Dr Riding
