  1. Very impressive heavyweight all-rounder, perfect for the Netherlands, which among other things is almost entirely flat and obsessively well-drained. Not so sure how it would fare in the rugged mountainous terrain of say Switzerland. Or Norfolk. Still, plenty of attachment points for a self-recovery winch.
  2. Yup, there's one 6' away as I type, in our caravan/office. Been used and abused for decades, kept us going in a different static caravan for 2 dire winters while we built our house, before that it did the same job for a friend on 2 self-builds, before that it was in a leaky barn for God knows how long, etc.....burns anything, keeps in overnight perfectly, pumps out plenty of heat, tough little bugger.
  3. If you're looking for real renewables madness, how about mulching a few hundred acres of perfectly sound young spruce for yet another windfarm?
  4. 1050HP eh? That's Bandit for you, always underpowered...;-)
  5. Well, the mildly lifted Disco it is, should have it Monday after the failed replacement headlining has been glued back on LOL. So having bought a cheapie wagon I am now going to blow some money on a spanking new Border Reiver recurve bow, before the first major repair bill comes on. And the 110 owner has decided to keep it, so a result all round. For now at least.
  6. Goldoni dealer: Welcome to CTM | Importers & Manufacturers of Tractors & Specialist Machinery for the Conservation & Groundcare Industries The main BCS importer is at Ashby: http://www.kilworthmachinery.co.uk/ There are also ancient legends about a Carraro specialist posting on these very boards.....
  7. Hmm, good point, do they tend to take a dim view?
  8. If you own an elbow on your right arm its a no brainer, disco all the way, subject to mechanical and rot caveats All feels tight, traceable local service paper, always waxoyled etc. New rear floor from leaky alpine window, tin otherwise solid everywhere. Raised 1" but stiffer New springs. And yes, wouldn't look forward to family visits to Gloucestershire in the 110 drivers seat. Tom, thanks for offering to strain my already aching wee brain with a 3rd choice but I'll pass for now. Btw, any news on doing the Ash survey I mailed you about?
  9. That is definitely the view of Herself. Plus the 110 is very tidy indeed, while I am not. And I've plenty of other things to spend the difference on. But it is a beautiful thing. Ironic that I've been looking all over and they're both within 3 miles.
  10. Looks like I will shortly own my first LR, but I'm not sure yet what flavour. Was looking to find a cheap farm hack to replace a test fail Trooper when I was offered an immaculate 2000 110 County on 19k miles for a very good price. Then owner had 2nd thoughts about selling and pointed me to a 97 Disco van on 80k that he'd sold on to a local enthusiast fitter, it's also near spotless and obv much cheaper, then I'm told that the 110 definitely has to go! Disco is what I was actually looking for, Defender is a lovely bit of kit , buying both is not really an option....Decisions, decisions.
  11. Well it isn't a tractor, but it's about the same price as a top end side by side. And we taxpayers probably paid 50k+ a pop for them, so it's all relative. I read on ARSSE that these fellas cost about 75k new: *BRAND NEW* SPRINGER ATV Military Vehicle (NEAREST TO OFFER PRICE CONSIDERED) | eBay Mad, mad world.
  12. Courtesy of yet another MOD procurement fiasco. Rousch, 6x6 All terrain Load Carrier, #54004 - MOD Sales, Military Vehicles & Used Ex MOD Land Rovers for Sale
  13. Very nice Tom. Query to all: Immaculate 2000 110 SW, full history, 1 careful enthusiast owner, long roofrack, steering guard, cloth seats, tipping bullbar, chassis &c as new, sub 20k miles. What's it worth?
  14. Well, if I was resident in France, I'd be looking at small used alpines rather than new Kubotas. Loads of Carraros, Pasqualis &c on LeBonCoin and the like.
  15. Heh, the yard is full of them, parts of them, skeletons of them, etc. There was a S2 on the shed roof a while back. On a more detailed look it isn't the Farmi 306 dammit, with luck there'll be a stamped plate somewhere.
  16. And thence to: JL 306 selective cutting tractor winch lesnický naviják Farmi JL 306, 3t - Nabízím zachovalý a pln? funk?ní naviják ta?ná síla 3t, délka lana 40 - agroBAZAR / LESNÍ TECHNIKA / navijáky etc. The miracle of the internet, eh? Thanks gents, will amble along and take a look.

  18. On Ebay and literally down the road from me, any ideas what it is, looks like it came out of a factory rather than a farm workshop.....?
