  1. i've got a rather large collection of mobile phones, and yes they all still work including the very first Motorolla which compared to todays postage stamp size phones, it looks like a paving slab
  2. I only use ladders for small stuff or fruit tree pruning, as most of my work is for clients such as English Heritage and local Conservation groups, it can be a real pain in the wotsit lugging a 3-4 storey ladder through the woods, only to find you've left essential climbing kit behind
  3. Hi everyone, allways the last one to comment on threads like this..Hope im not the last again.....
  4. Have a look at the Backpack type device that Weaver produce for Climbers etc, its a corduroy backpack designed to carry Rope, Helmet, Silky saw's, throwline etc. I think that has foldaway handles so you can stash it in the van without snagging on other equiptment..
  5. I've had an add in YP and Yell.com for about 3yrs now n last year paid for a Secondary Sponsored Listing on Yell, i've had loads of work from it and im even attracting interest from major commercial company's such as Harrow Developments.
  6. Hi Nathan i may be in line for a contract in Telford and Oswestry, i've just posted a Thread under general chat, and i need an experienced climber to help out, you interested..
  7. Is there any climbers requiring work to help out on an upcoming contract i've bid for. The work is in Telford, Shropshire and is due to start at the end of this month beginning of March. The contract is a full dimantle of 2 large 1 medium Sequoia, and a medium Eucalyptus, the work is in a sensitive area so full rigging techniques is required as is a Chipper and possibly a Stumpgrinder..Please reply ASAP
  8. I have a 94 vauxhall combo, fantastic little runner.I have only been in business for about 11 mnths, so i still use it. As someone mentioned earlier, once these sort of vans are properly sign writen, they look realy good n respecable..
  9. I've been in business for nearly a year now, started in March 08, before that was workking in devon looking after an acre n half of woodland for 2 Holiday parks. Im in the learning stages of Arb work, and boy there is alot to learn.....

    angry kid

That explains why there is a relentless urge to howl madly and foam at the mouth whenever there is a full moon, where's my Wife...Oh i've just eaten her for pudding......
  11. though it was art is that a joke
  12. I use a Husky for most jobs, they are reliable even in wet, cold conditions and they sound and feel very positive when starting particularly from cold. I do use a Sthil combi system for high hedges and Orchard work, and i use a Stihl saw for climbing jobs, because in these areas i dont think Husky's are well catered for, however a friend of mine uses a Husky for tree pruning etc and swears by it, so at the end of the day it is down to personal preferance....
  13. totally agree there Rolfe, i some times work alone (Very stupid, i Know) i pray loads that nothing happens cause if something does i may not see another day up a tree
