  5. I had everything nicked a couple of years ago it is gutting I really feel for you. If there is one thing in life I HATE (not a strong enough word) it has to be theft.
  6. Chainsaw maintenance, crosscutting and small fell ( upto 15 inch ) 5 day course and 1 day assessment. Course should be around £450+vat includes lantra registration. Assessment around £270 no vat includes nptc registration. That is average prices depend on location.
  7. I'm not sure if this will help but I have recently done a couple of one day refresher training days for some guys near me. The feed back was good considering they were contractually obliged to do it and a little narked. Anyway we had a good day each time in a relaxed and beautiful woodland. It cost them my day rate divided by four plus a little for admin. They got a simple certificate with my lantra instructer code and nptc assessor number on it satisfied all concerned. Happy days.
  8. I have customers that I do some work for every year and sometimes the spec changes I don't charge extra because they are valued customers who recommend me to other wealthy people. Goes round comes round.......
  9. Biting off more than he can chew comes to mind. Anyway gob it and send it......
  10. A very friendly man ( with irish accent ) in a newish white transit stopped my missus yesterday in my work sign written truck and offered her cheap chainsaws. Cheaper than you could buy anywhere apparently. My missus unfortunately didn't get the number plate. This was in Fressingfield suffolk.
  11. I got to thinking again (I know it dangerous) my favourite felling technique has to be the dog tooth ( obviously on a forward leaner) very satisfying. ........ whats yours. .....?

    Theft

I thought i would post a warning to any businesses in the Wickham Market and surrounding area. Unfortunately on Wednesday night my premises was broken into and lost all my saws, hedge cutters, pole saw, blower and other bits and bobs. Retail cost £6000 +. The farmer who i rent my units from had huge problems over last weekend with travelling types parked on HIS field near his house. He was threatened by the travelling types and treated badly by the police. Anyway they moved on monday evening, don,t know where to. Is it then coincidence that i got robbed on wednesday....... i don't think so. I am insured but it could be weeks before i'm back to having the equipment i had a few days ago.... Be vigilant.
  16. now i have this rad, if it happens again they can recore for £100.
  17. 576 all the way. i run a 28 inch on mine and she rips through anything. Great on the ground and climbing. well balanced and superb power pick up.... i love it
  18. Last week i unfortunately got a hole in my rad, radweld was no use. I removed the rad and researched getting a replacement. I was astounded to find that a replacement would set me back £750 + vat. i contacted timberwolf who confirmed that is what they have to pay to replace one on warranty. £750 for a cipper rad is disgusting..... Fortunately i took my rad to sheldrakes in Ipswich who built me a NEW rad from scratch for under £300. Andy at sheldrakes is a bloody legend......
  19. I have a last minute place on a course next week. I am the instructor not the training provider. Assessments CS30/31 are arranged for the 14th and 15th october. I always feel it is a shame not to have a full course and at this late stage i'm sure the provider would offer a discount. I have no financial gain by posting this, just thought it might benefit someone out there. The course will be based in the area of Wickham Market, Suffolk IP13 0AA. Anyone interested please contact me.
