Check the worm drive under the clutch likely to be that. If not blow the pipes out.

Had a problem with the fuel tank on ours expanding more than would be expected to the point where it pushed the belt casing into the fan. G/M sorted it out no problem, their good like that.

im in!I agree, if they don't know how bad the service is over hear things wont change!Right I think an email to Woodmizers headquarter is in order (any one with me?)

The engine on my LT30 packed up on Tuesday night, so I had a look on the web an found the replacement for my old Onan was a Kohler and some conversion kit, all this was on the Woodmizers US web page.
So I thought I would give Woodmizer UK a ring for a bit of advise! What a letdown all the guy told me was that ther was no replacment engine and quote (good luck with that). How do these guys do business like this? I intend changing the mill in a few years but no way will it be a Woodmizer!
Any way just ordered a new engine so hope to be up and running soon, if any one has replaced an engine on a LT30/40 I would appreciate a bit of advice thanks. Think I will start saving for a Timberking!!
(Done all that this time round without swearing, sorry Steve)
Woodmizer UK are one of the most unhelpful uninterested company's I've had to deal with for a while, it's a shame because we bought a new LT40. I don't think the yanks would be too impressed if they knew the scale.

I think this thread has been covered before so advance apologies If the answers stay the same,
Does anyone know if there are any UK dealers for Meteor parts,
I'm after two piston and barrel sets for MS361 (not Stihl's greatest I know!), I'm reluctant to buy Stihl new ones, and even more reluctant to go Chinese after recent advice, there are Meteor pistons on eBay but no barrels.
Advice greatly received.

Without being too rude quiet possilble the worst perfroming machine ive ever used.

For that sort of work a 291 will be ideal, you may find the 16" bar will perform better for you on hardwoods, use RS chain for maximum performance

just that quote should be a lesson to many who think that using a chain brake after almost every cut is for wusses or not always necessary ! Once you start it becomes second nature and you forget your doing it.I have slipped while putting the horizontal cut for a gob into a dead elm on a banking, my feet gave under me on wild garlic, it happened so quick and I ended up sliding backwards down a hill and stopped with the 25" bar sat across my neck and my right hand giving it full throttle.Luckily I hit the chain break naturally as I have always been very strict about it with myself and workers.
The banking was nothing I would of roped off of, i dug my heels well in before hand, it was just 1 of those 1 off whoopsies that could of ended very badly!!!!!

Some of our chip going to go to Drax now, Im Going to have to charge for tipping of chip, the crux of the problem seems to be the UK cannot produce enough chip.

I did find our Rayco finger teeth used to come loose when the correct torque was used. So have to do the tighter now.
-
Never heard of that one. Good tip.

of the top of my head I think it's around 220-240 NM, I'd need to check a manual, on the teeth point it doesn't make too much odds really on most grinders and dealing with most size stumps, normally a difference will only be noticed on big machines and large wooly stumps.Has anyone got any settings for these pockets. The bolts are M16. We have, yet more, problems with the hex bolts rounding off when loosening, despite regular replacements, so suspect they are being over-tightened to begin with. Also, is there a normal configuration of left/right and straight finger teeth. Working on this machine today, I've found that the operator has substituted handed teeth all round. No straight at all.

I think Jensen are more involved with this machine than is let on.

I wonder if they going tobe doing that 7" turntable ,we had a demo late year and thought it was really good machine , think we going to wait to see if Jenson frost bring one out ,are these new machine any cheaper then Jenson prices
Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
A 7" turntable will be a long way off I expect, it's a complete redesign of the machine as the engine is side mounted as opposed to in line non turntable.

From what I could see almost the same as Jensen which is good thing, they've sorted a few niggley problems the Jensens had, apart from still no having a fuel gauge or an easily accessible fuel tank! Arrrgh, these were first machines of the line, I hear they maybe trying to get round these!

If its steel weld or braze it, if its plastic, get a tank patch kit from Halfords
Halfords | Plastic Padding Leak Fix
If done properly this'll do the trick.
-
Ive seen it on a demo, I think it comes down to price with this one, they're a bit cheaper than a Jensen, Looks a good solid machine from what I could see.

I've learnt a lot on this thread, thank you chaps.

Forget the Chinese ones - they can come in a bit sloppy in fit and the rings can be brittle.
Fit this one - Piston Kit fit STIHL 044, 044 W, 044 R, 044 C Early Edition Chainsaw (50mm) | eBay
Episan are Turkish and second in choice against the Meteor - it will work fine and is of good quality.
Just ordered this one, fingers crossed!
What's on your bench today?

This week I have: X2 MS361 needing pot and piston and one of them needing lots of other parts as its been cannabilised, MS200 with muffler hanging off and not running right, likely to be pump piston, another MS200 needing muffler and a complete side/brake housing expensive in parts that one customer not sure. two rough 084's gonna make a good one out of both, HL75 needing new throttle cable, oh yeah and two Tanaka hedge trimmers for service.
