  1. Hi, What would you charge for 1 x tree boat and 8 x child's twist harnesses? cheers Phil
  2. Hi all, Does anyone know if there's a UK supplier/distributer for New Tribe gear? In particular their kids harnesses and tree boat. All the best Phil
  3. Morning, If a tree is in a CA and you fell it without giving notice under s211, then you have a duty to replace it. If you give notice and the LPA say no, ie TPO the tree and you fell it, you would need to replace it (and explain yourself to the beak). If you give notice and the LPA say yes, then the tree is like any other non-protected tree and you don't need to replace it. Cheers
  4. Hi Njc, Are you in Stroud? I'm in Wotton-u-Edge. Although there's not much point in me coming to look at it coz I hung up my chainsaw a few years ago, you could do far worse than give Lawrence Tree Services a call. They're not that far away and do some smashing tree work. They're in the Yellow Pages I think. Phil
  5. The beech needs to be inspected by an arboriculturist if there are significant targets. Regarding the oak though, the dry spring we had this year has led to a fair few cases of summer branch drop in oaks. It's a defence system they have when under water stress.
  6. Oops! Sorry, I thought that I was answering the latest message, but it had already been answered. Anyway, I concur; it's rosaceae.

    Mapmaker

Hello all, Does anyone use mapmaker for tree surveys? If so, do you use it in conjunction with woodplan or similar package, or just by itself? How do you import OS tiles to it? Is it simple to annotate the maps? Many thanks for your time. Phil
  8. Cheers for that, Do they have chainsaw protection? If not they may be the pair for me. Phil
  9. Hello all, Can anyone recommend a good pair of tree climbing trousers for sport climbing. They don't need chainsaw protection but should be stretchy, snag proof and hardwaring. Preferably light weight too but that might be asking too much. Many thanks Phil
  10. Dotted Hawthorn?? I like the pic of Bjork if that's any help
  11. What has 'experience of working in the same road' got to do with anything? Give the client a ball park figure for a reduction on that tree. Do you quote more for a 30% than a 25%? If the TO refuses a reduction then it's likely your client won't settle for much else isn't it? The spec is to make it smaller. Don't charge your client for making the app. You will simply be giving credence to those who advertise that they don't charge for apps, and it only takes 5 minutes to fill in an online form. All the best Phil
  12. Oui, C'est moi. sa va mon ami?

  13. Is that you Monsieur Dye?

  14. Dan, Sounds like a plan to me. If I'm up and running in Sept I'll find a big tree to clamber around. I'm based just outside Bristol on the West Coast. As you're business is up and running I might tap you for a bit of advice from time to time if that's OK with you. All the best Phil
