air cleaner is dirty carb settings are wrong carb may need cleaning out strip it leave it in meths for 2-3 days fuel filter may need changing if it dies in the cut its not getting enough feul start with these does it smoke alot when its in the cut hope this helps a bit

i always thought it was the breather its a little ball in the fuel cap sprung loaded now i think its the rubber on the fuel cap that ent sealing will have another look tomorrow cheers alec

alec i was just trying to look u up on ur 076 if u fill ur tank full of fuel and turn it on it side does it leek slowly just put it on my new mill and it started to leak cheer martin

that might be the case but iv never done it. as spud will tell u i dont very often do what people tell me i cant do :lol::lol:

just had time to put the 076 on the mill think i need a new fuel cap thought as fuel drips out of it when i put it on its side

si put a tape on top to bottem of the sproket end of the bar then go for the tip of the bar back woulds clamp as close to the noise sproket as u can but not so close u put presure on the teath of the sproket what saw do u have mate

wisewood it not on the sprocket i worked the dia out and clamped so the clamp just misses the sprocket i would not clamp on the sprocket u may put stress on the noise

got a good bench grinder when i brough that 47 inch bar off u rob could not be bother with hand filing a 47 inch chain to lazy for that i was looking at that little 12v grinder rob im thinking of buying a 36inch bar for the 076 for smaller wood like that elm Stihl Duromatic 36" or Stihl Rollamatic ES 36" just wondered if the sproket make that much diffrence cheers for the offer spud

i was happy how quick the 660 cut the trunk had bin standing for 2 1/2 years but no what u mean big j hard wood really wanted to plung the 76 in it but could not be bothered

tryed orgeon, grandberg,and stihl chains i was really surprised the grandberg chain made easy work of it didnt seem to stall the 660 as much i thought the elm would be really hard i think i will be sticking to grandberg chain from now on

i would like to say thank u to rob very helpful bloke he has just sold me some stuff to up grade my 24 inch mill to a 48 to fit my 076 i also brought a stihl 47 inch bar of him to fit the 076 so i thought i would post some pic of the new mill and will get a vid of the 076 milling when i mill that beach i told u about i no iv posted the pic under (today little project) but wanted rob to see what iv bin upto as he is a helfull and always has time for a chat cheers rob just got to drill the hole for the oiler on that bar [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU8XOLoVyQU&list=UUoBfRiiQTembalglJKJlVgA&index=1&feature=plcp]stihl ms660 milling - YouTube[/ame]

after buying new bigger rails form ROB D and some other bits i ended up mill this bit of elm wanted to use the 076 on it but i felt with a 48inch bar it would be a bit big so decided to do it with the 660

it is a good saw and will will be up for sale soon i will be putting it in arbtrader trying to thin some of my stuff out i have to many toppers

if i cant remember a new box is just over a 100 pound see if i can dig the old invioce out

i agree andy same i got a good deal from justin is like a saying iv heard so many time (is like 6 of one and half a dozen of the other )

round here its all small gate ways and long drag if u ent got somthing like a jo-beau or cs 100 it hard i brought the m400 over a bandit 65 because 60-65 percent of my jobs i could not bear the drag up slopes etc if most of my work was streets i would have somthing with no strees like u say easier

lol poor ed iv used both machine i like the jo-beau more i think they are better at chipping, but 2 things i really like about cs 100 so easy to change blades where that m400 is a pig and its a much better ballanced machine to move about but u will see what i mean when we get the 2 machine together

Sawthumb u ent used a jo-beau m400 lol thats the best gravity feed chipper iv used as u many well find out at the end of next month ask ed he may fill u in
