  1. Good luck mate - If it helps on my last session of chemo i was in a bed beside a fella with cancer of the spine, he could walk around as normal and only had one session left, but he couldnt sit down or walk around when he was diagnosed - The drugs worked and he was gonna be fine - So fingers crossed for you mate

  2. Hi, i wondered if anyone had got a copy of Jerry Beranek's Working Climber - Series One. I've 'Googled' it and the only place i can find in the uk that sells it is out of stock (treeworker) - and they don't know when they can get any more.

I just wondered if anyone had a copy they have seen many times / that they no longer need that they might want to sell.

    Cheers:001_smile:

my mrs got it for me for Christmas, she tried treeworker and they didnt have it so she said she got it from wesspur:thumbup1:

  3. I bought one of these from Jonesie end of last year as a back up for my 200t. great price and doesnt look a bad saw, is a pain that it doesnt come with a spiked bumper and the choke looks like it might snap off when being pulled through branches in a tree, but overall (without using it) I'm pretty happy for the money i paid for it:thumbup1:

  4. 2010 started great for me, loads of work, then was diagnosed with cancer in September, had operation, recovered for a month, then started chemo...still ongonig now. So all I can say lads is that as long as you have your health and can work, try not to worry, there's far more to life. Wish i could climb a tree right now. Really depressing but hopefully 2011 will get better:thumbup1:

  5. Thanks for the replys guys and soz to hear re others have been visited by these scum. I Have an idea who it could be,who took mt Entec, but imposs to prove.

Mate, if you have any idea who may have taken it then go after it, i am always worried that my chipper and machinery will be taken, Im ill off work at the mo and wont be back for a while and having my chipper just sitting there makes it hard to sleep at night. Im near Chelmsford too. Hope you get it back and catch the b*stards too!!

  6. I love the 395, but if you are climbing with it the one sided chain brake is a pain in the arse sometimes...Other than that not much in them - I did have initial oiling and chain tensioning probs with my 660 but that was 6 years ago

  7. I have the same chipper but havnt had to change the roller blades yet! but i would think that a good soaking of WD40 the night before and the same socket and ratchet that you use to change the flywheel blades should do. Failing that you could heat them and then imediately pour cold water over them, this usually "cracks" the rust and corrosion that is making them so tight. Good luck mate:thumbup1:

  8. Yeah, go for it, to be honest its a 2nd hand 2 stroke so it is always hit and miss, you can never tell how it has been used/looked after - offer £250 and maybe pay 300, you can get all spares on the Husqvarna Website for any model number, even the old models from the 1980s etc - good luck mate

  9. guy i was subbing to said he didnt wanna quote for it, even though people just said stick it in your diary and come and do it cause it needs doing. so i said well im well up for it so just gotta get the figures together.

im thinking you, your transit, that guy his landy and chipper fire into back of both trucks. see if i can sort out a farmers big 10ton trailer for timber and a crane and i reackon we should crack it in a day :001_smile:

    whats the crane for mate??

  10. Hey there,

Having just sold my 266 i am looking to replace it with a new saw. 99% of its life its for firewood. The local husky dealer to me has 3 i looked at yesterday.

All 18 inch bar as its for logs up to 3-4 foot diamater max.

the cheapest was a 365, then 359, then the most expensive was the 357.

I have never used any of these saws before so all advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Davie

all of those saws would handle an 18 inch bar fine, the 357xp is a brilliant saw, had mine for years and its never let me down, but if its just for firewood i would say the 365 would be fine, a good raw power saw.

but if you're cutting wood with 3-4 foot diameter, surely you would need a bigger bar?? a 4ft log cannot be cut up with an 18" bar, unless you cube it, which is a pain in the arse

  11. could you consider the 390xp too? I have had bad experiences with my 660, all sorted now but was a pain, and i like the 395, apart from the chainbrake only being mounted on one side (the 390xp is mounted both sides) the 395 would be fine if its only used on the ground. If i could choose again i would go for a husky.
