Had same trouble with sugi bar on my 540, nose sprocket split with little use. I don't abuse my bars and I do greese the tip. Back on husky bar and no probs. Have good experience with the bigger sugi bars though

HK how much kit do you have to maintain nightly? Sometimes if i've had a late finish and there are 3/4 saws that need doing and i can't be assed! So i do 1 or 2 and do the others early the next morning.
Lucky it's only 2-3 saws most days. A two man team, would do my head in if I had a few gangs of guys and loads of saws etc to sort, don't know if I could sleep at night ?

Always sharpen and blow out etc each night, like to know my kit will work nicely the next day?

An Irishman walks into a sandwich shop and sees the sign says 'sandwiches £5, hand jobs £10'. He looks to the counter and sees a beautiful blond with a stunning figure and very pretty face. " Do you do the wanking?" he asks. "Yes I do." she replied. "Well wash your hands, i'll have two cheese sandwiches!!" ?

I did a large rsj/sleeper retaining wall late last year, loads of cutting, I used a large circular rip saw and double cut, an aggressive handsaw is also good, they are full of granite and the creosote in them also dissolves air filters, that's why I try and leave the chainsaw at home. ?

I think this is the most unfair aspect of it. All under 3500kg GVW should be exempt in my opinion. There are a lot of rules and exemptions that can confuse.
I assumed as it was old, commercial and diesel??

On the 51 series Powershift or synchro? The synchro are normally cheaper but easier to repair, powershift nicer to drive both on and off road.

Never tried burning that. Just split a load of 3 year seasoned Robinia and that burns beautifully hot.
Yep, lots of the yellow leaved Robinia have died round here over the last 7-8 years?

Very good firewood, assuming you mean Robinia.
Nope not Robinia, climbed those before this was totally different, mimosa type foliage from memory and smoothish bark

Anyone tried Acacia? I remember in 2005 taking one down in a town that was only 12 years old and the dbh was around 24 inches from memory! Wasn't particularly tall but had a lot of wood in it.

Ladders are brilliant, make me more inclined to come down for a break when reducing as can be left up normally, would aid with aerial rescue and hopefully speed things up, especially if you have a non climbing groundie?. Also makes it easy for the groundie to bring you a cup of tea up into the tree.??

5130 will also kill your bollocks on the road, that series were awful for bouncing
-
Ford 7810, straight 6, 100hp easy to work on. A series 3 with a super q cab would be lovely. The 5130 are good but the pick up hitch is always a weak point if towing heavy trailers regularly. The case would probably be cheaper??
-
Depends what you are doing mostly, the 130 is much better on a polesaw or strimming thick grass, the smaller engines are ok for hedge cutting. I wouldn't go below the 90 to be honest ?

One thing I found good advice with the bore/release-dogtooth cut was not to try and bore in and put in your hinge in one go, start back a little bit, taking your time and work towards the hinge to get it perfect. As you get more experienced you can do it all in one. Good luck, you'll be fine?

I did mine with Essex and Suffolk trailer training a morning lesson and then test for around £320,about 6-7 years ago. Test was in Chelmsford.

5 years or manufacturers guidance (less) if specified. All textiles are 5 years max to pass loler. I had a tree magic 2 harness, changed to a skylotec kolibri multi slide (2d) harness and it is similar, slightly more comfortable, easier to put on, but a bit more cumbersome, I liked the streamlined feel of the tree magic when in conifers etc. ?

2002 husqvarna 357xp, was a joy to use after borrowing my grandads old 263Cd Husqvarna ?

Stihl full chissel are best I've used, prefer sharpening Oregon as they are softer but don't hold the working corner as well

Apologies if this has been covered before. I have a p500 small bollard, it's brilliant and simple for the groundie to set up etc, I have cut a flat section out for it on a couple of larger jobs but have seen there is now a 'visor' available. Does anyone know if it will let it take heavier loads or just a back up to stop slipping etc.

Clown reductions? I’ve seen much worse!
Nice job!
The clown part is what my groundie refers to any of my pruning jobs ?

Is it the little black relay, clean or replace only a couple of quid at a local motor parts dealer ?
