  1. Never you mind about me just make sure your on time Saturday!
  2. Cheers guys, basically it's a saw that won't get used very much, but when it's needed it'll save killing my 044. I'll see what it goes for I've checked the new prices out so know roughly what to bid. I always said I wouldn't buy another 2nd hand saw too, tho the one I did was a good'un! But it's hard to justify paying double for a new one. £400 saving is a lot.
  3. looking at the following saw on ebay, loks like its ok to me but as theres lots of fakes etc. would like second opinion before i have a bid. also when did the 066 get replaced by the 660? cheers mike Stihl chainsaw 066 on eBay (end time 17-Jan-11 20:11:25 GMT)
  4. And there was no curry stains on the table!
  5. That's pretty much what I did, the thing was there was nothing directly above to anchor to, so when it was tied off there was the chance it could have swung back towards the tree, dragging itself along the roofs. So I tied off the other end to. It's a storage place where I keep my trailer.
  6. Sorted this limb today that had fell onto the caravans just wondered on different views how people would of cleared that. Not sure if the pics will show the size but it was about 10" diameter where it had snapped. Oh none of the caravans could be moved.
  7. By the time you've another layer of trousers on it kinda defeats the objective of havin the stretch airs.
  8. Yeah I've got a pair if stretch airs, by far the best trouser for climbing and even general working too. But after 6/7 months mine are falling apart, the crotch has gone between the two legs and the hi viz strips are falling apart, tho they've changed the strips on the newer ones. So basically for the money they cost there c**p but there still the best to work in!
  9. Bear in mind it's not the same as power lines^^
  10. Hahaha how could I forget! No overheads on that line tho
  11. I work in railway and were not sposed to touch anything with 9ft of the overheads.
  12. Hi is there any work going will travel an hour or so from Manchester. Have cscs pts 30,31,38,39 tractor. Got my own kit etc. including a little jobeau if needed. Pm or ring me, cheers mike 07764581557
  13. In what way? The old ones seem to last very well? Do you think there any better off road?
  14. That's the new tread pattern is it? It looks more chunkier than the old one did, I got I set of the old ones and am quite impressed just wish I'd wrote down the mileage I'd put them on at!
  15. I read somewhere can't remember where tho, something along the lines of: the prv in the valve block is only for the winch as it's set lower than the tool/second service needs. So I presume the prv above is something to do with when your using a tool, and the prv in the valve block is bypassed somehow? One thing I do find strange about andys advice about putting it between pump and valve block is that there's a hose with the kit that us exactly the right length/ fittings to go from pump to valves. But it makes more sense to put it where Andy says, so thatswhere it's goin!
  16. Haha pretty sure I'm not related, I don't mind spending when it'll earn me money but this probably won't, just saves my back when it getsused! I'll look into that setup at the minute I just want to get it up and going and see how it all performs first.
  17. Out of interest anyone got/used the new bfg mt tyre?
  18. Ok a bit steep for me, it's got a lever to go in the cab with a Bowden cable to operate it there, illhave to think of a way of doing it using that somehow. Was thinking of running a splitter off the second line, but depends on getting the bits together to make one first! Cheers again
  19. Nice one cheers Andy one last question tho while I've found someone who knows, would it be possible to convert the spool block above to electric somehow, it's the only problem I'm gonna have is having to be so close/or in the vehicle to operate it, would be ideal if I could fit a remote. Rik happy new year mate. You know me not happy unless I'm wasting money on the old landy!
  20. Don't know if this will help the top two are the pipes for the winch and the bottom two are the on/off control for the "tool" line
  21. Cheers Andy, I'll see how it goes, don't suppose you makehoses up too? So it's definately a prv, I'm Not sure where your coming from regarding where it goes in the system? Are you saying it goes between the pump and the spool valve, or between the spool valve and the toolpipes? Cheers again mike.
  22. Cheeers for the reply. It does have three ports. Ii might help if I explain how it's piped up (or will be). It going tank-pump- then to a spool valve this has two levers one for forward and reverse of the winch, the second is an "on/off" which supplies two take off points for tools etc.- then to oil cooler- filter-tank. There is an adjustable screw like the one on the picture on the spool valve which I presume is the prv for the winch to stop overloading.
