  1. A fairly bug beech I felled a little while back. Must point out that the saw wouldn't idle hence the strange revving!
  2. Might need a site to drop some connie chip as close to bury as possible, probably a couple of van loads. Pm me or 07764581557 cheers mike
  3. Just checked the website and there 5£ per day per vehicle. Will have to phone up and check I'd be eligible but fingers crossed! Thanks for replies
  4. just thought, what's the crack with skips? How do they go on? Thinking I could hire a skip park the chipper there and just chip into the skip, I'm sure they wouldn't be able to ticket a chipper on it's own??
  5. Cheers for the replies, I'd rather not bother if I had to get tm in on it. It would be a sun morning job. I'll look up the permits as mentioned above. It's only the chipping that is going to be a problem, I can sort the tree out without needing to park there. So for a couple of hours at most I'll be parked there, but knowing my luck....
  6. I've been asked to quote some work on some conifers, there in a front garden which is about 10' above street level. The thing is the road outside is a busy road that leads into the town centre about half a mile away, it's two lanes wide and it's just after quite a busy set of lights. I'm thinking of parking half on the pavement half on road and put some signs cones out etc. to try and make it look half organised What do people think? I'm worried about getting ticketed or police troubles. There's no where else to park in reasonable dragging distance and there's double yellows too. Any advice as always much appreciated.
  7. I've just got a quote with arbinsure, which includes 5k of tools of which no single one is over 2k. 5million pli Quote was for 635 but that was based on 10k turnover, if I did more id have to pay more!
  8. Isn't the 9000i the one with a light in it for showing uts overheating or somethin? Try goodwinch for one, I'm sure there all similar after all it's only a switch
  9. U can buy the point off eBay for 100 quid and I'd thought of just buying a hydraulic motor to drive it, easy
  10. Sorry to bring up another splitter thread but can't find the answer to this. Basically want to know what screw splitters are like compared to ram type ones. I'm gonna be building a splitter soon and it'd be a lot easier and cheaper to build a hydraulic powered screw type. Opinions please. Cheers mike
  11. I got mine from goodwinch the elcheapo 20£ one. Works ok but obviously probably won't last fir years, definately been worth the money tho
  12. How much were they? (the dogs not the sweets!)
  13. So it must be the breather, I'll try and get a new one so I can figure out how to get the old one without damaging, the tank. Cheers
  14. I've nit checked the filter properly, but would it be improved by taking the fuel cap off?
  15. Ok just had a try and it runs ok with the fuel cap off, so I've blown of the outside of the vent, popped the top of the vent off but cant seem to get the rest out, does it just pop out? It still won't run proper with the fuel cap on and the top part of the vent off. Cheers mike
  16. Just had another look and it's revving to high on half choke too.
  17. Just wondering if anyone can help diagnose this problem. Was using the saw a while back when it stopped, the same as if it had run out of fuel. Filled it and tried to start it again and it will fire on cold start, then it will run on half choke but as soon as I press the trigger it stops, I was thinking fuel filter but after going into a dealer and describing it he reckoned it was the diagrahm, what do people reckon? It seems to me it's fuel starvation somewhere? Cheers mike.
  18. If that's true it's ridicullous!
  19. I was trying to think that, it didn't have many hours on it an it's gotta be £30k+ new
  20. Ok so who went? Interests to know what the greenmech went for?
  21. If you mean my other post, sort of, the rest of the tree is coming down. Cheers mike
  22. I may need someone on Saturday to do a job with me. It's near the Trafford centre manchester. It's a bit of a long story but I've hurt my back so if your a climber pm me your day rate and a contact number, but theres a fence directly below and a few caravans about so you need to be ok! OR if your a groundy I may end up having to do the climbing so same goes send me a pm. I'll know more tomos and will get back to people tomos. Cheers mike
