  1. this is my axe, there are many like it but this one is mine :001_cool:

It has split several tonnes of logs over the last 2 years, and shows no signs of problems (other than the slight run in with some concrete on the top corner) it does feel slightly head heavy but i find this works well, i split inside in an old garage with a roof of about 8ft so i cant swing overhead but i find i dont need to as the axe splits well enough, i also use this for splitting all my kindling as it has a razor sharp edge.

ive got serious axe envy, how much was that beauty?

  2. It would be quite simple to prove, just order another batch off the supplier and test when they arrive. Pinning full blame on him would be a different story I would imagine.

The point I am making without getting anyone back up is that if you supply goods that aren't as described, you can possibly be held liable in one way or another

The wood supplier should know the dangers of selling wet wood unfit for purpose and therefore shouldn't be selling it

when your too old to climb you could get a job at health and safety.

  3. Sorry, My post came a little harsh. What I meant by was this -

This is an industry that is based mostly on disposable income, and is going to see a very rapid shrinkage. Its poorly paid, dangerous and needs a high level of both financial and time investment before you can be 'employable'.

Why anybody would pin their hopes on a job in it, I really cant tell.

I see it a bit like someone training to be a coal miner in the '80's

    full of festive cheer ed

  4. Yale Blaze is 11.5 24 strand

New England Tachyon is 11mm 24 strand

Both seem to sell as well as each other at the moment but the New England prices are about to go through the roof and i think the Tachyon is going to be about 50% more expensive than the Yale Blaze.

50%!! sod that. yales a good rope imo.

  5. i had a bit of luck with the boxing lately, i won £110 on calzaghe winnning on points, haye by ko and hatton by ko. i also got last weekend one right too. but only on the results. khan to win, froch to win, manny to win, audley to lose and the big mac to win. crap odds mind.

khan on ppv is joke. he will be fighting non punchers from now on. audley is also a joke.

ive got setanta now as its got the most boxing and ufc. im looking forward to david hayes fights the most at the mo. i dont think he can beat vitali but i recon he will ko his younger brother wlad.

hatton shouldnt fight manny, he will lose. Froch would stand little chance against calzaghe either, but that fight will never happen imo.

  6. most people are only interested in the price, not type of wood or even if its seasoned! good job as i only have green hardwood logs left. people still come back for more. i think 140 a load is expensive, coal is still cheaper than burning wood.

  7. i cant believe my luck, one of my neighbours has given me a t13 and a t35! the old model winches. they both work but need a good clean and grease. does anyone have a manual for these in pdf? also anyone ever took one apart and cleaned them out? what would i use to so this? im in tirfor heaven:001_cool:
