found this post by doing a search and as the last post was 2017 and need to buy a new saw due to theft so will ask now they have been about longer which would you buy 560xp or 562xp ? be mainly using a 18inch bar

thanks for the advice guys checked the throttle cable working properly . yes has the blue ignition coil will take the exhaust off and see what thats like . did notice seems to be using a bit more fuel than normal but not sooting up the plug.

hi my husky 372xp starts fine and idles but only seems to be running at half revs when pull the trigger ? have cleaned the carb put in new spark plug and fuel tank filter . any idea what to look at next ? any help would be greatfull

Hi while out today noticed a rust colour on some sweet chestnut trees and some die back in the surrounding block any ideas what it might be?

theres a few jigs and devices out there for it . a link to one of the videos some friends and members from the green woodworking group took when they come and found me working out in the woods. have had a lot of practice over the years so can make it look easier than it is but just to show what possible with a lot of hours doing this job but be care full as pointed out big risk of kickback when plunging [ame] [/ame]

the rot in the 1st pic was from a tree that looked healthy when cut down but when cleft rot pith and very brittle the 2nd pi shows some of the stubs that have died

hi i hope this is the right place to post this i have just coppiced a block of sweet chestnut . noticed the odd dead standing stubs but rest of the block looked in fairly good health apart from a bit of windblown . but when i started to cleave the wood into fencing product started to notice allot of rot piths in the timber .and the wood seems very brittle sometimes just shearing straight of even on large diameter bits. could this be phytophthora ? could this be the reason for the windblown as the roots are rotting off ? would this effect the grain in the timber due to the tree starting to die and decay even if the tree looks healthy no sign of ink spot

been doing a little bit for a while but started to do a few comps (6) over the last 2 years and trying to get more hedge laying work very rewarding when you see the end results and the regrowth later on . yes its important to find someone that really knows what they are doing . lot of trainers and courses out there that arent worth wasting your money or time on . but lots of good ones and groups out there to depends where you are and what style you want to learn so worth doing your homework and finding the good ones that are out there

in a comp you have 5hours to do it normally around 8 to 10yards depending on the class

yesturday had a good day at the isle of wight hedge laying competition some good work done by all. i managed to get 1st prize and best section by hand tools only . allso got the best stakes and binders with my mate russell coming a very close 2nd well done to all that took part and a thanks to the organizers for a good fun day

not to many issues but did a couple of times. can see it might in really wet ground but that can be said for anything on wheels definitely low impact still

peel all posts cleft or rounds all straining posts and struts. peeled last longer same as winter cut chestnut lasts longer than summer cut but job to say just how many years peeling will add to it . as for peeling depends how many you are after doing a cundey peeler wont be cheap but quicker. or can do them low cost and do them by hand i peel all my stuff by hand with practice surprising just how much you can get done in a day

definitely peeled last longer make chestnut fencing and put it up and have seen lots of times cases that have proved this

hi been laying a hedge with some large holly in it with that has to be pleached and laid trouble ive had with a couple is controlling the weight on the way down as big holly can be fairly brittle can bust off the pleach if comes down to quick was thinking it may be possible to set up a rope on a tree further back and use a Figure of Eight Descender to control the rate the stem come over would this work or can you guys think of another way ?

a guy i use to work with years ago use to use mole grips to pinch down the rails on the bars that had splayed as you can adjust how much they shut up and less chance of pinching the rails up to much i found when you set the mole grips right it works well
