  1. PEDANT ALERT The sin that lands both Judas and Brutus (and some chap called Satan) in the ninth circle of Dante's Inferno is betrayal not suicide. Predictably, the bible gives contradictory reading on death of Mr. Iscariot. In one account, he simply buggers over a cliff - presumably not the inspiration for the tree's common name!!
  2. I'd say fault is a socio-cultural concept and if you trace a causational chain back you can aportion blame to anyone you like!!!! I blame Osama Bin Laden / Dave Lee Travis / Pele...
  3. Further to mine - Invest your resources more effectively by not basing all decisions on risk. Leave the tree for another year, thereby freeing up some cash to put two better trees in!!!
  4. Leave it for a few more years and worry about something else...

  7. Good day out. Sandal count was quite high but it didn't detract. Its been said before, but its always good to put a few faces to names. Cheers to all who organised, turned up and dropped by. Few shots taken whilst sitting around wondering where the coffee machine was... Andy C in the first and Cerne and Matty in the second. (I missed the money shot with the introductionary handshake!)
  8. Slightly off topic I know but related. Did I just read the ITCC rules right - you now have to call "stand clear" before pulling out a throwline without a throwbag on it???? Er why? "5.2.36 Contestants shall issue the audible warning, “stand clear,” and receive confirmation of “all clear” from the head judge before throwing or removing a throwline with the throw weight attached. An audible warning shall also be issued before manipulation of the throwline when the possibility of accidental removal of the throw weight exists. Contestants shall issue an audible warning when removing a throwline with the throw weight removed. Failure to issue audible warnings will result in a 1-point deduction for each infraction of this rule. Two one point penalty warnings will be issued. The third offense will result in a disqualification. (2008) (2009)"
  9. Ah stuff it. You get a beer for effort and there's another available for the first mine with larvae!
  10. Hmmmm could be... Does the tree suffer from Guignardia????
  11. I think we restricted the time because people (who have since been banned) were retrospectivley editing their posts during arguements to their advantage. I suppose that era has passed now. 20min?
  12. Frayed knot. I'll put a long day in though...

  16. Anyone know of a good, reliable supplier of container grown shrubs for trade prices - either local to me or with a reasonable delivery cost??? Ni.

  18. Its the larval stage of the leafhopper Ledra aurita. (Took me and google a while!)
