What legs do you think would look best ... or what would you fit yourself ... ( politely curious )
Intrested too , nothing came to mind for me out of wood, especially for a coffee table. Never done metal bending before so gave it ago, this is the end result. I enjoy the fact that everything is handmade.

It does appear to be a graft union , most unusual , was it intentional to include it , or just chance ? I like natural edge coffee tables and am currently arranging timber for such projects myself , the only thing to be aware of is they are right "shin crackers " lol Again a nice piece and well done in successfully drying that plank ... Terry ..
Just by chance to be honest, didn't notice it until it was plained one of those hiding beautys.

Ian , that figuring on the table top at one end looks like the graft union , I have had a bit like that myself years ago and it is a point of interest that takes some explaining to some people . Nicely done piece of work , and I think the metal legs work well , to be honest I can't really imagine what wooden legs would suit it !! well done
Here is a better picture ,

Cheers guys , it's very stable and solid the metal is 6mm x 40mm and 8mm round bar. Plus its a coffee table so not much weight will be on there, even tho I've sat/walked on it 😊 . So if it doesn't tip with my fat arse it will probably never will 😁
I'm making another one out of yew , with different legs I've designed.

My local timber merchant does stuff like that for me Uses a table saw or bandsaw and for old sleepers I use a chainsaw

I always go for trend but always willing to try other options. There are sets for trend but depends if you have use for them all, I just buy separately.

I use to use bags like these, put charcoal in fold and staple bag for bottom.

I haven't regretted the 1/4 ones I've got. There Are a lot more beneficial to me, if I need a 1/2 one I'll buy one but the 1/4 one has been perfect for kitchens, furniture etc etc.

Where abouts are you based, I've got a lady who contacted me about some laburnum. Haven't got time to get it, she's based in Wales.
