  1. So much bollocks talked about ticks, twisting them anti-clockwise, vaseline, burning them off with tab ends, etc.

    They need to come off short, sharp and clean.

    Applying antiseptic to the bite area afterwards is a good idea as well, for man and beast.

     

    As for prevention?

    I'm pretty well 50% DEET'd up against mozzies anyway in situations where ticks thrive, which the little buggers don't seem to like, but expose as little flesh as possible as well.
