    I'll be the first to say it's some silly shat. 30 years ago it was more interesting, but nowadays it's mainly stoopid. It seems that MMA/ UFC has replaced it.

    For sure, long as possible. I'm amazed at the number of climbers who keep their shanks so short. Mid point of my calf muscle is too short, it should be a finger or two below the bone on the inside of your knee.
